The Scale

I think I'm getting obsessed with the scale. HELP!  Before surgery, I never really cared and would check my weight whenever.  Now though, I feel like I need to buy a scale for my house and check daily.  I have been going to the clinic weekly to check my weight loss - I know they want us to check it weekly.  But I planned on thursday to be my day to go to the clinic, but now I'm finding myself thinking about going on monday, or tuesday, or wednesday...any day just to check.

Am I the only scalecrazy one?

Your not alone.

I'm obsessed too and it all started when they told me at the clinic if I was up they wouldn't do surgery. I bought a scale and weighted every morning after that. I'm still weighing every morning but now it's because I like to see the numbers change everyday day. I think my mind is still adjusting to the fact that I have had surgery and the weight I'm loosing is gone forever providing I follow the rules which I have every intention on doing.

All I can say is if you don't have one at home, DON'T buy one. It's EVIL.

*wipes forehead* I'm so glad I'm not alone. I think I'm going to head to the clinic today to check. I just can't wait. But I think it probably isn't a good idea for me to buy a scale. I would probably use it too much.

OMG, I can't imagine not having one.  I weigh myself in the morning, after work and at bed time.  I feel like it keeps me on track.  I do know that sometimes when it goes up a bit, it's cause of water, but still....it makes me more accountable.  I have a pad of paper beside it and every time I hit a lower amount I write it down, then I have a goal of getting below that.  I also write down my pedometer number for that day.  Just a little journal of my journey.

I'm not as obsessed as I originally was.  I still check every day, but, before I would check after each time I went to the washroom!

Now, it's not so bad, if I forget for a day it's not the end of the world.  My dietitian says to only weigh in once a week, but I'm not at that stage yet.  I still like to know where I'm at.

I'm obsessed too! I weigh in the morning, as soon as I am home from work and before bed. I know its nuts, but also know its important not to have it creep the wrong way though, thats how I ended up gaining all the weight in the first place- ignoring the creep of the scale.

I only write my weight once a week though and that is the number I go by!

Whatever you do don't tell Lee...but I am the same as Chancy!  I weigh everyday but I only write down one time a week.  Lee told me only to weigh once a week and I am supposed to be working on that, but alas I am not that strong!  I find that daily weigh ins keeps me on track because I find that the days I do not get my protiens in but choose a carb instead (I know I'm bad) my scale reflects that.  So it's really just another tool to my weight loss.  I am going down at a steady, heathy rate and they are happy at the clinic.  I am happy at home...I have no foods that I cannot eat, I just need to choose not to eat the foods I shouldn't.  Just don't fret when the number changes daily...it could be water, or it could be too many slices of gooey cheesey pizza! Lol!  But the number that counts according to Corey and Lee is the average for the month so make sure you write it down weekly and figure it out to get your best accuracy.

Good luck!  The scale is an addiction!  My husband wanted to lock mine up until he saw the devil in my eyes...:)
