Bellydancers!
First, I just wanted to let you ladies know that I think you are delightful!
Second...did anyone else wear a pedometer while dancing. I forgot to check where my steps were at before class, but from the numbers afterwards I'm thinking we did around 2000 steps. That being said, we did alot of muscle work that was performed on the spot...so it was a seriously kickin butt 2000 steps!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and I'll see you all in two weeks!

OMG, I wore mine, then forgot about it until now, when I read your message...I didn't look at mine before either, but I'm thinking around 2000 too. Not bad for 1 hour eh?
Yes, nice to chat afterword for sure. So nice to hear about everyone else's experiences. Good and bad.
You guys all rock. I'm so glad I found you. :)

I have been using my ipod as my pedometer but more and more I think I should get one that I can hopefully stick on my hip or somewhere as I know I definately miss days with my ipod.
I liked the class yesterday! I'm thinking about going and buying one of those wraps and practicing at home. Which would give me a bit of an extra workout too. I tend not to do much at home for a workout it is all at a gym.

I'd recommend the Omron brand of pedometers. The have models that you can slip into your picket or purse and will still work. I've got the model that connects to my PC and tracks everything. I've had it for close to two years. I wouldn't trade it for anything. However, be prepared to pay. They are not cheap, but worth the money.
Cheers!

I have an OMRON brand pedometer, it sits in my pocket but has a strap and a clip...this safety strap and little clip are the bees knees i tell ya.
When I don't have a pocket I clip to my waistband and tuck my between my pants and panties. or if its a skirt, tuck it to the waist band of my underwear on my hip. haha!
My pedometer tracks steps, arobic steps, KM, cals burned.

Hey if anyone wants to try hooping some time, let me know! You can totally do it at home if you have some space. I push my couch aside a little bit or hoop in the free space in my basement. You could even hoop at your gym (if they allow you to use their workout rooms when there's no scheduled class, I know my previous gym was very free about that!)
I know with hooping you can pack a nice little boost into 10 minutes. I've done over 1000 steps in 10 little mins, and it fixed my left hip. I'm very serious about it as a healthy activity, so please forgive me for being passionate and straightforward about it.
At my heaviest weight I could barely move without being out of breath or having my hip hurt SO much. I stumbled into the activity by accident, and because small hoops and plastic toy hoops don't work for adults my husband custom made mine for Mother's Day. One of the sweetest things because I was completely depressed with not being able to get in steps and walk etc... It completely changed everything for me as far as activity! So now we do it together (the hoop making,...he is not a hoop dancer...bwahahah!).
Anyways, just thought I'd put it out there...it's really fun when you crank up the music go crazy. If you want any more details send me a message, or friend me on facebook.
Hugs, Dreena.
PS. Gastroscopy was a piece of cake. Will be posting about that shortly. Thanks for all your well wishes
