Feeling full (or lack thereof)

Sometimes I feel like a circus sideshow...I can eat a LOT of food and not feel 'full'.  This is one thing that I really look forward to surgery for changing.

It takes a LONG time after eating (sometimes up to at LEAST an hour for the satiated feelings to kick in). I've even gone TWO hours before I started getting those happy satisfied tummy feelings.

Is anyone else like this?

It's hard not to eat more food at the table when the tummy is still saying it is hungry, and the brain hasn't received the message that it has eaten a fair amount of food.  Ack.

I've done my fair share of discussing ups and downs today...

I can totally see how this would be so confusing!
We're trying to limit our food until the point that we feel full and yet you're havign troube with the feeling full part.
Have you had your journals examined in a while? Maybe it's what you are eating and the time of day?
I honestly never had this issue. My stomach shrunk to the point that somedays I wasn't able to finish meals as I was full really fast. I'm the side show LOL

Give your dietitian or Rn a ring and see what they have to say. The scale won't lie once you've figured it out.

THanks for the reply :)

I know I'm a volume eater...doesn't matter if it's salad, fruit, a meal, cereal...it was always big, big portions....and I never had the full feeling until I actually couldn't FIT anymore food down.  Graphic but true.

So now, eating an appropriate amount of food and waiting and waiting...and still experiencing hunger rumbles..it is difficult.

I also have thyroid disease and I think my metabolism is a little S-L-O-W.

I know my body is different from everyone else, so could be that I'm going to have to eat even less and exercise even more than an average person to make the weight come off and stay off.

My food journals are pretty good, I have not had a review lately...but even my NUT says she wouldn't really advise changes in my diet because I eat pretty healthfully! (is that a word?)

Maybe I'm in a bit of a plateau, I will continue to do the good work that I'm doing and it will come.  Even if it's ONE ounce every WEEK...I WILL DO IT! :)

I have my scope on Monday.  Hope it's all good, and I'll see all of my supports again soon at the clinic, and Dr.Birch.   I'm getting to the point of ready for this journey to get moving forward again!

OMG.  I can't even imagine being full on half a cup of yogurt.  That's awesome.

I'm retaining ALOT of water in my legs this week...so my body is going through something.  I keep telling myself when tha****er finally passes, my good work will pay off and I'll see that I'm down a few pounds.  So (shaking fists) 'screw you Plateau!!"  LOL.

A couple of pounds and I'll have reached my first big goal (set by me), which is 10 percent loss as well.

Another 8lbs after that, I'll be back to my pre-pregnancy weight of about 6 years ago.

This is what I'm working towards...and I'm gonna get there!  Hopefully close to Christmas, if not BEFORE!!

Now I'm going to go forward, embarrass my children and hoop in public...bwahahah.  Hey, I might as well be doing something while I wait for them to get out of dance classes!  Can I get a high five! Woot!

I think you can meet your goal before Christmas! I have the same goal....not 8 lbs. I have a size goal that I want to be in by Christmas/January. So we'll see.

Good luck on your scope test!

The scale was friendly this morning.  I'm down a pound (yay!)  Now if the water retention would leave I'd be happy.

I wonder if it's possible to retain water because of being more active (i'm on my feet and legs more). HM.

Good luck on your goals too adrianna :)  I think we can do it too.

Will report back on the scope. (cringe).  I can be brave...
