Facebook or Yahoo Group

Anyone know what the Facebook or Yahoo Group names are?  I can't seem to find them, but I wanted to join.  Thanks all!

I'm interested to know as well, if there is a group(s).

I'm not sure of a Facebook group, I'd be interested in joining that!

The yahoo group is called Edmonton Bariatric Support Group, you can just do a search in groups and it should pop up.

I think starting a edmonton weight wise group is a great idea :)

Folks:  Personally, I wouldn't join a Facebook group for a few reasons.  First, I don't have or intend to create a Facebook account. I've resisted the pull to join social networking as I have issues with the lack of security and privacy of Facebook.  Secondly, I don't know much more you can splinter a relatively small community like Edmonton/Alberta bariatric surgery patients and still get meaningful discussions when you have basically the same people communicating.  Not to mention, I don't have enough time to check yet another web resource. Finally, there is a level of protection within the scope of the EBSG/OH sites as access is restricted to pre/post-op patients.

I think that our time would be better spent trying to combine and enhance existing resources like OH and EBSG and creating a stronger presence.  I think that both sites have services that compliement each other nicely.  For instance, I like that I can post/reply on ESBG via email, not only via web.  On the other hand, I like the signatures and health tracking of OH.

Anyway, some food for thought.  If this does move forward, please post details.  I would be more than willing to post it at EBSG.

That name sounds great!  There are a lot of people on my facebook that don't know I had the surgery so I wouldn't want it to have a name related to surgery at all.

I like the Edmonton Facebook idea too.....so who's gonna start it :)
