I'm doing okay, I started all three of my jobs today. Two of them kind of go hand-in-hand but it is the busiest time of year for the companies so it is a little nuts and I'm not sure if I'm coping very well. Actually I know I'm not.

I was off longer than I was supposed to be. Actually about a month longer and i had my appointment with Dr. Birch today and from Friday when I met with Corey and Tara to today I GAINED 0.7kg. Apparently it is hard to gain after bypass surgery but I did it! So I'm so frustrated about that and I'm frustrated about work, so overall today haven't been a good day.

But on a side note, if anyone has the "style money" coupons from Addition-Elle they are accepting them starting today. And they also have $20 off per pair of the Addition-Elle perfect fit pants so I bought 3 pairs of jeans and a top for less than $70...which isn't bad when you consider how expensive Addistion-Elle can be. Oh and i got them all in a size that I haven't been able to wear for about 10 years. That is a plus then....

Hi guys!!

First of all....

Kee I'm really sorry to hear about your father and I will keep him in my prayers!!

I've been dreeping the board every now and then but haven't had the time to post anything.
I'm 22 days away from surgery and I'm getting excited. I'm also really nervous that I will gain when I go for my appt with Corey on Sept 20. Wouldn't that just suck- to go the entire time in the clinic losing weight to gain the day before my sleeve. Ughh that stress could certainly eat at me considering I am NOT on any pre-op liquids.

School started today and my oldest son is in Kindergarten!! It was a bittersweet morning walking him to school but he was so excited that I didn't have time to shed any tears- YAh me!!
The weather has been so cold here the last week and rainy that my motivation has been crappy , even though I have continued with C25K and am still running.

I have a friend that is starting the Optifast ( 3 shakes a day for 3 month and no food) diet today and I'm a little worried about her. She has lost 75 lbs since January on her own and signed up for his program for the support but it doesn't seem normal. Do doctors really promote this?? Anyway-- I want her to succeed and get to her goal but I worry that she's doing more harm than not. She's already taking plastics and getting someone to do them asap. Just seems unhealthy to me.

Anyway, I joined a book club recently and have gotten back into wanting to scrapbook. I'm looking forward to the fall and maybe meeting up sometime I'm in the city.
My pre-op is on Sept 20th and my surgery on the 21st , so I'm there from the 19th- 23rd ( though I'll probably not feel up to strange visitors HAHAHAH I'm so not callign you all strange but you know what  I mean!! lol

Don't worry about the .7 gain Adrianna---rny or not-- it's a small amount and with all the other stuff going on in our bodies, not something to beat yourself up about! :)
Denise--- I'm so glad you had to go through that barium swallow test and not me, though I'm sorry you had too-- YUCK!!!! I didn't have to do any of that stuff. Do you know why? I haven't the foggiest and wonder if maybe they forgot?? LOL

until next time.....

Hey Kim,

My youngest starts kindergarten this week too.  I KNOW she's excited, I'm already feeling a bit weepy, but I'll have more time to focus on ME.   Maybe I'll get to MY scrapbooking too...

I'm just completely inspired by all of you and how determined you are!  What a strong bunch of ladies!  I really mean that.  Re-reading these posts are very heartwarming.

Kee, I'm sorry to hear about your Father, it is really tough when someone we love is ill.  I hope that you will be able to draw on the strength that you show here.

Adrianna,  don't panic!!  Maybe it's stress and water retention! As Kim said, don't beat yourself up...it will do you no good.  Be kind to yourself and move forward :)  You can do it!

Me: the barium swallow...gah.  Really it was like FIVE cups of the stuff and I thought I was going to explode.  At least it was mildly minty flavoured...hahah.    Maybe I had to do it because every once in awhile I get hiccuppy and things get stuck when I'm swallowing.  Although, that seems to be twenty pounds ago and doesn't seem to happen very much anymore.  I still have to go for the scope too.   I've been trying to make light of my anxiety over that test by making very rude jokes about it.  Ahhh, if I can't laugh at myself and things that happen....I'd just panic all the time.  HEEHEE!!

Toodles,
Dreena

haha, I noticed, but scrolled back to make sure there wasn't a 'Denise"...I'm used to being called names other than my own.  No harm!  It made me smile.

Wow, listening to you guys talk is awesome.  (yes, I hear voices...lol)  I'm thinking I need to make bigger changes than I have after listening to you.  I've only lost 14 pounds so far, and I know that I have tons and tons to go, but I'm almost afraid to make too many changes too fast.

My eating choices have been way way better than ever, I'm not snacking on anything other than fruit and yogurt, I'm not over eatting, I'm walking more, going to aqua arobics and wearing my pedometer.  I'm seeing the dietician, the exercise specialist and have an appointment to see my nurse.  I have taken 2 modules and signed up for 2 more....all this in about 8 - 12 weeks....Oh, and looks like the belly dancing might be a "go".... :)

Hey, when I write it all down, it sounds ok.  LOL.....I guess it's a process eh?

I'm sure glad you guys are there for "listening to"   :)  Thanx

You sound like you're kicking butt and takin' names when you write it all down Piperdoodle!

I'm glad you wrote it all down and shared :)

When I first started wearing my pedometer, this is really really sad but...I was getting maybe 700 steps per day.  (barely moving).   My low days are 1500 where I'm sitting at the computer and working and not doing much....but my high day and non-scale victory came last week when i had 6400 steps in one day!  I NEVER thought I'd see a number like that.

As soon as I get the kids back in school I'm registering for my last few modules. And going to try to establish a 'winter workout routine'.
