MY SURGERY IS BOOKED!!!!!

I called and spoke to Lorraine at booking this morning just to find out where I was sitting the waiting list as 2 months have passed since the last  "It'll be sometime in September" phone call. She told me it'd be late September - early October . I didn't know what to say after that and I think she heard the disappointment as she said she'd give me a date right then!!

I'm set to go in for my sleeve on September 21st!! That's 7 weeks! I can't believe it really and wondered if they'd have ever called me if I had ? Guess it doesn't matter now!

I just got off the phone with WW and booked all my pre & post op appts but can't get ahold of my hubby at work to let him know of my exciting news so you're all the first ones to know!!! He is in meetings on Sept 22nd and Sept 23rd and I'm really hoping my discharge is late on the 23rd so he'll be done in time to come get me and for me to not have to hang out in the hospital lobby alone for the whole day . If all else fails-- I cab it to a hotel and sleep!!

~Do I go in for a meeting with my family doc and bring it to the pre-admission clinic at the hospital with me?
I forgot to ask when I called this morning. It's been on my fridge for the last 3 months .

I'm also so glad that you phoned them cause sometimes I wonder how their system works and if sometimes we get over looked.

I'm not sure what we are suppose to do with that form either, I meant to ask when I did the pre-op clinic and it totally slipped my mind. You will still get another call from a pre-op appointment so maybe you can ask them and see if you are suppose to bring it with you then. If you don't hear about your pre-op appointment in a week or 2 let me know cause my sister has the phone number.

What an exciting piece of news for you. I am curious as to when you were cleared for the surgery? when did your name go on the list??

I was approved for the sleeve on May 3rd and called in mid June and was told there were 6 people ahead of me on the list for Dr.Birch. After seeing others get dates approved after me I called to see where I stood and was booked on the spot.

So excited and now the clock ticks.......
I'm sure I'll have a pile of questions pre & post op for other sleevers!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! I am very happy and excited for you. I had been booked for July 21 then it got cancelled and then I found out at the end of July that my surgery is booked for the 18th of August.

Where is Dr. Birch ?  I was referred to Dr. Nohr in 2006, finally got in to see him in 2009, and was just told today that my surgery date in Sept 2010 has now been cancelled because he has 'more urgent patients'.  I'm not sure what it takes become 'urgent' if waiting four years doesn't qualify.  Maybe Dr. Birch would have a different opinion.
