Has anyone had to deal with a spouse who cannot handle the weight loss.  I would love to know how you dealt with it.

Hi Karen,

I really wish I had an suggestion or answer for you on this one but I have nothing.

I asked my husband last night while I was standing in our bedroom  complaining on my sagging leg skin, if he loves me the same with the sagging bits and all the weight gone.
He was taken back on why I'd even ask such a thing but I've always wondered if he'd be able to handle my success. He weighs 200lbs and have never had a weight issue so he doesn't know what its like but my weight heavy and lighter hasn't ever bothered him.

I really hope you work through this and if you need to talk to someone at the clinic-- use that outlet . Everyone reacts to change differently and counselling is available!!

Hugs!!

Thanks Kim I know alot off the problem is my husbands own insercurties.  I think he thinks because I am losing weight I am going to go on to greener pastures.  I can't seem to make him understand that I have stuck with this marriage for 16 years and the only reason I am losing weight is for me and so I can be around to see our kids and future grandchildren  grow.  Thanks though for your support.
Congratulations on your date for surgery.  I hope I am not to far behind you.  I get to see Dr Birch on Monday but am getting worried with this heat I keep going up ;and down like a yo yo on the scale.  Fluid retention is not fun.  I can only hope for the best and am trying to be real good this week with choices.
Thanks again
Karen
