waiting list
thanks
I was approved about 7 weeks ago with Dr Karmali and I have 22 people ahead of me which means I'm looking at November and my sister was approved in May with Dr Birch and she has 12 people ahead of her and is looking at an October date.

Gall Bladder surgery April 12,2012
You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't. Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened. My Surgery was September 21/2010
It's backed up due to the summer with holidays and bariatric surguries are elective surgeries and get bumped all the time.
You're likely gonna have to wait into the winter but just remember you can go into the clinic at anytime if you feel like you're slipping or need to see them due to the huge gap in time from approval to surgery. Just migh pic up quickly though once the summer is over.
Best wishes to you!!
Good luck, I have been very impatient since the beginning, but it is for the best and I can see that now. (though I still wish I could get it done faster!! lol)
I met with the surgeon on May 3rd and after reviewing my case and the 3 surgeries that are available , I was approved for the sleeve and then signed a release/consent that I was accepting that one.
Then the surgeon gets your name put onto the list and the next time I will see him will be prior to and after my surgery which is slated for sometime around September.
Not everyone that gets to meet with a surgeon will get the ok. Some have to meet with them a few times , have their bmi in a safer zone, have sleep apnea issuses are have too many underlying health issuses that will make bariatric surgery too risky.
Feel free to be curious and ask us lots of questions!! :)
I am only a week and a half into the process, but have already done 2 Modules, started journaling, been to 2 aquasize classes, keeping track on my pedometer and started taking multivitamins. Here's a stupid question. My MBI is 47, what if I do all the right things and get it way down before even meeting the surgeon. Will they say I no longer need surgery??? Way confusing...lol
