I know it's holiday time for many and being on the computer isn't helping with our recommended 10,000 steps /day but I'm just wondering where the regualr posters are and what they've been up too?

All is well with me! I have my pre-op classes under my belt and I'm going to enjoy my summer til I get the call to go in for my sleeve and hope I maintain my loss. I'll be glad when the rain takes a hike! This upcoming week is going to be warm --- FINALLY!!!

Wishing Adrianna much luck as she gets ready for RNY on July 13th. She's very nice and very deserving of her surgery . We met at the Maintaining Change pre-op class.

Hope all are well!! :)

Hey Kim,

I was wondering the same thing but you beat me to the post.

Life for me is super busy right now, working 2 jobs and somedays it's 14 hour days so i've got no troubles getting in my recommended steps, somedays I actually double it.

Still waiting for the 30th to go to my pre-op class, it can't come soon enough for me. I'm super excited to see what its all about.

I got to meet Sarah(Bear) today and we chatted at the clinic. Very sweet woman. I so wish we all lived closer so that we could do a girls day. Wouldn't that be awesome.

Warm wishes to Adrianna as well, I bet she's over the moon with excitement.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi All:

Thanks so much for the warm wishes! I am getting excited and super nervous at the same time!  The liquid diet is a struggle.  I didn't start it exactly when I was supposed to.  I had some family issues and had to take off to Vancouver so that didn't help out all!  Then I cheater today with half a sandwhich and some fries....

Tomorrow is a new day I guess.

How is everyone else doing?  and I am very happy that we are going to get some warm weather!

Hey  Everyone,

Just popped in to say hello. Trying to spend as much time outside as possible with the nice weather. It help's me not to think about food...lol Getting in my recomended amount of excersise.

I'm down 21 so far in 6weeks. I meet with Dr. Farries again on Monday for my second consult and I hope to be down 4 more lbs by then to make it an even 25. Tyring to stay focussed( harder than I thought it would be sometimes) All my weekends are almost booked solid  this summer so I am glad for that, it going to be blast with all the road trips and activities we have planned for the kids. Gonna have to find some car friendly meal ideas or We could just stop at McDonalds for a Salad I guess.  Anyone got any Ideas.... I am not aloud to snack just have my 1cup of food 3 times a day. So I was thinking protien shakes for breakfast, grilled chicken salad for lunch and the rest I have no Idea...we do this ever summer and I am so used to packing chips and candy and  sandwiches and goodies of all kinds. This year is the test year... gonna find a healthy was to go on a road trip with Kids.

Good luck to anyone having surgery soon :) I wish you the best of luck with an uneventfull surgery and a speedy recovery!!

Can Anyone tell me what your 2 or 3 week liquid diet consists of? I am curious about to find out.

Have a great evening everyone:)

Hi- My 3-week pre-op diet (with Dr. Karmali) was 4 high-protein Ensure, 2 cups skim or 1% milk, and 6 cups water or crystal lite or other sugar-free and caffeine-free liquid. Of course, no soda pop. I did have 1 (large) cup of coffee daily. That was necessary to get my eyes open in the morning. I stuck to it and lost about 20 pounds in the 3 weeks. I think they adjust the pre-op diet according to your weight or BMI. But that was mine! Boring!!!

Hi Everyone

I have creeped on the site a few times but haven't been posting as regularly.

I was diagnosed with ADHD in May and have been taking Adderall XR. I did okay with it for the first three weeks, but have since developed an issue with it. It has greatly effected my appetite and has made it nearly impossible for me to eat anything until after 5pm and even then, only things that are cool in temperature. I feel really run down all the time and the weight I am losing is water weight, my nut is worried that I will regain once I adjust to the drugs. I've had my presciption adjusted and am pretty much just waiting for my body to adjust.

Other than that, I've been busy with the new job and getting aclimated to the city. Sarahbear and I started yoga last night and really enjoyed it. I am wondering if any of the people living in the city want to start a workout group? I need to make a committment to getting in my exercise and was thinking if we got a group together it would be easy to commit and we could change up the activities based on what the group wants to do.

Just a thought.

Hope you are all having a fantastic summer and keep us all posted on your journies.

Hi

I've been on a similar medication for ADHD "dexedrine' and what was suggested to me was to try using the shorter lasting version 2-3 x day instead of once a day. I found that helped so much

MrsApril:

My liquid diet is 5 high protein ensure a day - I really don't mind the choclate ensure - it tastes like a bit thicker chocolate milk to me, 4 or more cups of water..and anything else that is a liquid that is zero calories...or 5 - like crystal light.

I have 4 more days to go!
