Happy Dance....
mamasita,
I choose the sleeve for a few different reasons. First of all I used this forum to research all 3 surgeries and of course the Internet.
I'm not originally from Alberta and it got me thinking that if I choose the lap-band and then ever move back home there is no doctor's who can do fills or unfills and travel back and forth to Alberta would be extremely costly.
Secondly, lap-band requires alot of compliance meaning that you are required to be at the clinic for monthly appointment. I live 2.5 hours west of Edmonton so it requires a long travel and consistent days off work.
Thirdly I like the fact that the sleeve is permanent, no fills/unfills no foreign objects in my body that could erode through my stomach or slip and it helps with appetite control. I weighted out all my options and for me this is the best one. Also the weight lost is close to that of the by-pass. It's a big percentage over the lap band.
Hope I kinda answered your questions.
Kee.
