I haven't been able to find it either, but I live in rural Alberta so the only supermarkets I get to once in awile are No Frills,  Walmart, and Sobeys.  I'd love to know where to get it too!

I am hoping someone knows because I'd like to try it myself as well!

I was thinking maybe an organic market-type store.

I've been on a greek yogurt googling hunt, and i found this post:

"Yes the Balkin Style yogurt is Greek Yogurt - very yummy! I'm in Alberta & buy mine at Real Canadian Superstore (not sure what that's called out East). - usually the Astro brand."

Soo i don't have a superstore where i live, but i will find one, for anyone that has a superstore, it could be there!

Okay, thats funny!  I thought I couldn't find it & here I've been buying it all along!  I love Balkan Style yogurt, get it at No Frills and Walmart.   The stuff I get is Astro Original Balkan  Style Natural yogurt.  1/2 cup has 100 cal, 7 grams of fat, 4 grams of protien, 7 grams of carbs.  I also by the vanilla flavored balkan style and mix them 1/2 & 1/2  then throw in some fruit.  It's my favorite!

I have bought Greek yogurt at a little greek grocery store, just around 124th street in Edmonton. It's called Hellas Foods. You can buy greek yogurt and also chicken souvlaki frozen on the sticks. I've been to Greece a few times! love travelling there and cooking an authentic meal once in a while.
Balkan style yogurt works as well. Check the fat content though- some balkan style yogurts are low in fat, and some are very high. Oh yes a brand name for a nonfat type of Greek yogurt that is very good is called "Fage".

Another way to make your own Greek Yogurt is:

Take a tub of plain yogurt ( I use the LF version)...use a cheesecloth and strainer.

Put the yogurt in the cheesecloth over a strainer and bowl...leave in fridge overnight (or longer if you want it thicker)...voila..Greek Yogurt and MUCH cheaper.

Check the websites for Chobani (my favorite) and for Fage ( also very good). You can locate stores nearest you if there are any.
