Is it just me?

So I'm finding myself in a bad mood a lot lately.  I keep on looking at my phone and waiting for it to ring.  It has been 2 weeks since I was put on the surgery list and I called the clinic a few days ago and they said it could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months for them to call me.  I can't wait two months! I'm going crazy now!

Was anyone else like this? That waiting for the phone to ring is above everything? Or am I just losing it?

I kinda know what your going through . Everytime the phone rings and I see private caller or a foreign number I get my hopes up only to have it not be "the call". I was put on the list on May 3rd and was told that I'd be in before August. I was also told that booking usually calls at the end of the month, so I'm kinda expecting a call near the end of the month for surgery in July. Just my thought though. I'm not needing a special pre-op diet or anything so I could be called to come in anytime.

Waiting sucks- it's sort of like waiting 9 months for your labour to begin LOL But once that call does come you'll be waiting for the days to get closer and closer to the "DAY".
Try and be patient and redirect your energy into something else, before you go insane! :)

I was put on the list on January 4th of this year and had my surgery on April 6th.  You might have to wait a bit longer to get the call.

Dr. Birch told me when I saw him that it wouldn't be long until my surgery but he's not the one who books them.  I think he told me a month and it was 4 months. 

You could also call Lorraine at his booking office to find out the place you are in line.  I'm sure the clinic will give you her number.

waiting is a pain but get on with your life.... i was put on the list in nov and had mine on April 28 so you can never tell.  put it on the back burner and live.  it will all work out the way it is meant to.

yep i called lorraine also, was in, in two weeks... so its worth a try.. especially if you do not have to go on the liquid diet before surgery... tammy

I talked with Lorraine the booking agent yesterday and they have booked the next few months, and she said that she was booking now for Sept.-ish as the surgeons take a break over the summer. She referred to both surgeons although I was asking for Dr. Karmali so this may apply to Dr. Birch (though not 100% sure...). I am just going to try to enjoy the summer a bit and not wait around although I was really hoping for a call last week.

Thanks All.  Some days are fine but other days, especially if the phone rings with a number I don't know.  And it seems like my phone rings a lot with numbers I don't know lately.  Oh well.

I was told the same thing about Dr. Birch wanting my surgery within 4 weeks and I heard him tell a few people there when I was booking my surgery classes that he wanted me in quick.  I do have to do a 2 week liquid fast before my surgery, but I'm still hoping that I will get a call for this week coming up and it will be in June.  I'm really hoping for June.
