It seems that I may be moving to Alberta next year.  I have heard, although not sure if it is correct, that plastic surgery following WLS is covered in Alberta.  Do any of you know? and if so, are the waits long, what is covered etc.  Any info would be appreciated.  Thank you

hey, only the tummy tuck is covered, and you usually get it about 7 months after your weight is stable... hope that helps...

I seen one of Dr. Birch's surgical staff members on May 3rd and he said that the plastic surgeon appt would have to be booked well after your wls- your weight will stabilizie he said after 2 yrs and that you can book the plastic surgery consult arounf the yr mark.
I asked if the skin would be removed and the muslces tightened (Abdominoplasty) and he told me that the hanging skin would be removed but that was all. I'm not 100% sure if this is the same answer that all the surgeons will give but that is covered and that is all UNLESS there is a reason why it should be removed- ie- sweat problems with hangin arm skin, uncontrolable rashing under the breasts etc. There are always ways around things but for the most part, it's out of pocket.

I have a mile long wish list for the next 5 yrs....tummy, thighs, breasts, pubic area, arms....I best start saving now LOL
