Just from reading about Dr. Karmali seems like a down to business guy? which is a great thing!! Dr. Birch's surgical guy was funny and pleasant. He was professional but he was comforting. He laughed along with me. I didn't have to go for any exams and there is no liquid diet for me at all.He didn't explain RNYtoo much to me as he didn't qualify me for that one and explained to me that lapband wasn't going to give me the result I was looking for if I wanted my excess weight to go. The was also no ditation to my doctor but since it wasn't Dr. Birch , maybe that was why?
Carlene, my dietitian called the other day and said the front desk would be calling to book me into a couple pre-surgery classes and then when I got the surgery date call from the RAH to call the clinic and let them know as I'd get the call first.
Carlene also said if I get called into surgery prior to any classes that she'd go over everything on the phone with me.

It's really nice to have the phone follows up since I don't live in Edmonton and that we have a wonderful support system with open communication.

Here's hoping my call is soon!! Good luck Rosemary-- maybe we'll be surgical buddies too? Really hard to say when the calls are goign to start for next month ( I was told to expect a call by the end of the month).
