Off to pre-op!!!

OMG!  Pre-op already!  And I am going to be a part of the apples study so she is meeting me at my pre op as well:)  Plus my son's b-day today (he's already 12!!!)  and his band concert tonight...busy busy!  The next 13 days until surgery are going to FLY!!!

Congrats on making it to pre-op and Happy Birthday to your son.

I think lots of us who haven't made it as far as you have would be interested to know what exactly happens at pre-op and where does it take place. The only part of the Royal Alex I am familar with is the weight wise part of it.

I, too, am curious as to what goes on during the pre-op stage. I'm just waiting on all that now. I'm not too familiar with RAH either. I did have both my kids there but that is a blur LOL

I was at the clinic till almost 330. closer to four.. I forgot you had preop or i would have come and seen you.. Oh well. My goal is to come when your in hospital.. How you doing??? Im sure the time is flying by.. Hugs

Oh and cus I dont read the whole post.. I did the video.. explains the hospital, who does what extra,, Then you go into a room and wait. they do a history review, then they come and take blood work.. sometimes you get a donor ( red band) for quick blood check. then you get a ECG . then you wait some more. the " sleep
 sperson come s in and talks to you. if htye have any toerh test for you todo then you do them


 oh and they weigh you but it matters more on Surgery day

Yup, everything Karen said happened.  Also I am part of the APPLES study so Danilelle came to chat with me.  I suggest brining a book, a drink and a snack.  I was in there until 4pm.  I finished my book, and I had only been half way through!  Pre admissions is in the basement of the RAH through the main door.  There are lots of signs to show you the way:)

 

Karen, I probably wouldn't have been able to see you yesterday as it was so busy and I needed to rush homw, but thank you so much for thinking of me:)  I really hope that you come see me in hospital as I told my hubby not to bother coming bac****il he is picking me up to go home...it's too long a drive and too expensive:)  So some company would be nice:)

 

As for me I am on a liquid diet.  The fisrt 5 days I gained a few pounds ( I think my body just wanted to reject the change...thinking it would be fed up to its previous standards if only it was patient...but I fooled it!) after day 5 I started to lose.  This morning...1 week on liquids...I am down 10lbs.  I hope it keeps going in that direction.  I am hoping to be out of the 300's before surgery.

What day is your surgery? If I am in the city I will stop in for a chat. I am so proud of you! You are going to ROCK this surgery.

I wont see you on the day cus I know you will need that for recoop but I will come see you the second.. Im so excited.. I told you have faith. I know about the weight gain. I did before I started the LD and I was so scared. RD told me chill it will be ok.. and I was down from 343 to 328 so Im sure you will be ok.. Its amazing how fast ( or long) that pre admin clinic is.. I spent more time waiting for people.. LOL
