There are great paople on this forum...so you have come to the right place!  I am having the sleeve in a week and a half.  Have you met the surgeon?  Do you have a date?  Where are you in this journey???

What I have been told in respect to the time you see the suregon to the time you go in is rather quick. I met with the surgeon on May 3rd and he figures he'll see me in July sometime.

It varies for everyone as everyone is not signed off for surgery by ther surgeon the first time they see him ( ask sixfootkat about this). Some people are going to be disappointed.

You see you RN again on June 2? or a surgeon? Which surgeon?
What made you chose VSG? How are you doing with losing wieght through the teachings and help of Weight Wise?
Are you done your modules? Have all your tests done- sleep apnea, body scan , required bloodwork etc?

I started program just over 389  ( first inintal Assesement was May 22.  2009.)

. Saw the Surgeon Feb 22 2010. Surgery was done ( 328 )  April 6th 2010.

Today Im 307. So It was a learning cerve.

But that being said I was referred to the program  ( just over 400 ) March 2008,,, So 2 yrs.. It will all work out. Im sure you have been waiting and sometimes it seems for ever but I know that our RD or RN  and  Drs Only want whats best for us. They want us to show them that we know this is just a tool and we are willing to do the rest..

and Keep asking questions. Like People have said . Everyone has different needs and we can't base what happened to us. Only take one day at  at time. Keep food journal and do the pedomitor.. thats the other key. If you do an emotions journal . do that also. they are great resources.

Like everyone else has said, everyone is different.  I started the program in March of 2009.  Saw the surgeon for the first time in January 2010 and he signed off for my RNY on May 3.  I'm still waiting to hear from the booking clerk to get my surgery date but things are moving along at a pace that is good for me.
