I was told by my nurse Jina that if you come to the clinic for your weight in the day before surgery and you are up that they will pospone your surgery until a later date. I was also told by her that while doing the liquid diet that they want no more than 1200 calories comsumed per day and that you can have jello as well.
Maybe you should call the clinic and leave a voice mail for your Nut or Nurse to get some advice. Also try not to stress, it reeks havic on our bodies. Maybe right now its such a drastic change that your body is holding on to everything cause it doesn't know what else to do. Hopefully it'll get better.
Good Luck Girl. I'm praying for you.
Keelan.

You can either believe it will happen.....or believe it won't. Both are self fulfilled prophesies. For Me it has happened. My Surgery was September 21/2010
Cut the oxo cubes out...just stick to Ensure, water and skim milk.
I lost 10 lbs before surgery with no water retention....and I ALWAYS have water retention...even now. I have a "pee pill" I take once a week to flush myself out.

Wow sweetie, I know it is hard but you really need to try your best to relax and stop worrying so much. Stress is really bad for you and causes your body to store fat around your belly area...exactly where you do not want it.
How many shakes you are required to have is based upon your current weight. Everyone is different. When I start my 3 weeks on May 11th because of my size I get to have 6 shakes and 1 Cup of skim milk.
My body is doing lots of very strange things so I talked to my Dietitian on the phone yesterday and she said that my body will go thru some changes and I need to let myself adjust.
Give your body and mind sometime to adjust...you really will be fine!
I live in Carstairs so I am like you in that I have a long drive to get to Edmonton so my Dietitian and Nurse both allow me to contact them via email and will also make over the phone appointments when I need it.
So call or email your Nurse or Dietitian and tell them what is going on with you. It is their job to help you be successful on this journey.
I agree you need to ditch the OXO that stuff makes me swell like a balloon!
Not to worry you more but Dr. Birch looked me in the eye and very sternly said "if you gain even one pound I will not hesitate to cancel the surgery". I believe in the process, I am doing everything my Dietitian told me to and I trust that it will work!
Please believe in yourself, do what your Dietitian tells you and you will be fine.
Get your hubby to hide the scale and only give it to you once per week!
Remember you have to consume 3500 calories to gain a pound. When you are on the shakes, your body is burning way more calories than you are consuming even without any added exercise.
I am sending you a really big HUG!!!
Katrina
PS Sorry this message is so long I am just worried about you...hopefully something I wrote helps! LOL.
Seriously you won't gain with being just on liquids. There isn't ANYBODY I know who gained and IF they did, they cheated...you know?
I was on the liquid diet for two weeks prior to surgery...my diet consisted of:
3 High Protein Ensure
1 cup of skim milk
As much water as I wanted...
No OXO whatsover...they might have changed the diet, but I survived and lost 10 lbs before surgery.
Hugs
Brenda
Thanks Brenda,
I was just worried because I have to rearrange my whole life to do this (I know every one has to) My job has to be filled and I am causing other people to have to take my shifts because of this. 4 other people have to rearrange thier lives to suit me so I just want to know that this is not for nothing. So I decided to step on the scale this am because I am heading to the city today and low and behold I am down 5 lbs:) Now I feel like this will all go through and I will have my surgery in the end. Thanks for your support all. I guess my body just needed to adjust to the changes that I was forcing upon it and was reluctant to give up some of that weight:) Hope it keeps coming off as rapidly for the next 2 weeks as I would like to be out of the 200's by the 18th:)
