I noticed

Tonight I was out for coffee and I was watching the people coming in and out of Tim Horton's.  I was drinking a plain peppermint tea.  Almost every person who went to the til ordered donuts (usually a dozen) and most ordered a coffee.  The people next to me were eating muffins and on the other side soup and a sandwich with a donut and a cinnamon bun.  I was surprised by how much food was being consumed all around me.  I never noticed before I went on these liquids.  I really think that people eat to eat and not to noursh the temple we have all been blessed with.  I hope that I can help to change the relationship that my kids have with food and help them to learn that food can be pleasurable but that it is there for nourishment more than for pleasure:)

Friday night, I visited a friend of mine who works in a jewelry store. We were talking about what I eat now for breakfast compared to what I used to eat for breakfast pre-op. After I told her what I ate pre-op I was totally in shock. I used to eat a huge frying pan full of hashbrowns mixed up with chopped onion, ham, eggs, and cheese and FOUR slices of toast. That whole frying pan could've easily fed about 5 people, but I would eat it all to myself. Now.... I eat a little container of Source yogurt and and sometimes a half slice of toast and am FULL.

I'm more conscious of what people around me eat. I shake my head most of the time. I think it's sad really.

*hugs*

Its amazing.. I love to people watch.. Its a great stress reliever.. LOL I know that food seems to be the " National Thing".. That being said.. Food is  always part of our life. If you notice.. most events focus around food, family gatherings, holidays, births and funerals.. Ect. Im sure you get my meaning..

I have 2 tbs of food now and Im full.. tonight I had chili and let me tell you. It didnt like me .. Not one bit.. Im finding it very frustrating. Figuring out what to eat  that wont cause me to Yak or the other.. GRRR. Im so tired of the same old thing. Cottage cheese and me. Not going well. I tried the spa, sauce and the texture( thats my thing) didnt go well.. So I wrote and email to my RD and requested INTERVENTION.. cus Im stressing .. Sorry had to put that. awww Karen!  I'm so sorry that this is so frustrating to you:(  I wish that there was something that I could do to help you or fix it for you.  Maybe you could PM Brenda and get some advice from her.  She seems to have a great grip on things and being a year post op she might have some good solutions to your problem.

Hugs hon!  It will get better:)
