Job Update
I wanted to thank you all so much for your positive thoughts and encouragement.
I was offered the job I had interviewed for, but had to decline as I am not able to get out of my lease in Hinton.
Thanks again. I am a little sad that I wasn't able to make the move, but I know that something is going to happen for me and that is why this did not come together.
My lease is only until September... so with the summer coming so fast, it will go quickly and I will be in the city for the fall.
Thanks for the offer, Sarah. I can stay with my sister too. So I have a few options in that way.
I spoke with my landlord to find out what would be involved in getting out of my lease and it would cost a small fortune and I am just not willing to bleed the money when I can wait and be in a much stronger position financial by doing so.
I am just going to have to be a big girl on this one and fight my impulses to jump and do the first thing that pops into my head, like I always do!
Thanks for the info! I wish I had known it all when I first rented this place.
I had a rent incentive as part of my lease and I would need to pay the difference back for each month I have been in the apartment... so it would be about $1400 for that, a months rent as notice $795 and my damage deposit $795. So by the time I am actually out of the place... I will have paid over $3000. It was just too much for the moment.
So, I decided to pass on the move until the lease is up and concentrate on getting some rent money saved up between now and September.
Thanks again. I will be much more informed when I rent in Edmonton in the fall!
28 years old, single, without kids... engaged twice and never married. Plus, I get ideas and act on them - like moving to Scotland, buying a dog, a new car, new hair color, new anything that strikes me. I would hate to end up house poor!
