Once you hit a certsin milestone or drop a certain amount of weight- do you reward yourself?
I used to be the type of person that would go out to eat and have a few drinks to celebrate a success but with 80+ lbs gone I've moved past food onto other things.

For me it's been a few Coach purses, haircuts and color, nail appts, clothing in smaller sizes and hubby told me last month that when I hit 100lbs gone, we'll go away. I also thank God everyday to have giving me this opportunity to better my life!

Just curious what you all do to celebrate your achievements?

I do nothing. I get to breathe air into my lungs another day. And that to me, is a reward in itself.

My dad however..... he told me that for every 33-1/3 lbs I lose, he's buying me a present. lol

I am still just getting started and haven't lost much weight... only about 3-5 lbs but I am planning my reward for when I get to goal! Which might not be for years but I have faith that I will get there and stay there.

My plan is to go to "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" in Orlando. I'm a complete and total Harry Potter nut and knowing that there is a place where I can step into that world is amazing to me and I want to be there badly, so I am hoping it will provide a little incentive.

Helz I go shopping.....I am still in the "Value Village"  store ..and proud of it.  I can't afford to buy a pair of jeans then have them baggy within a month....

I think even when I am finished losing, I will still shop at Value Village occassionally.

Also, I get a manicure and pedicure for my treat.

Ohh...and I do treat myself to food too.....low fat baby cone yogurt, or a Dairy Queen low fat fudgesicle...hmm...a small bag of baked Lays chips....

We still need to live people....treats are just that TREATS...nothing more...don't be afraid of them...just know they don't control you anymore..you control them!

Besides....if I overdue it...my bowels and pouch let me know.

Hugs

That's totally it Brenda in regards to TREATS. They don't do the controling or the comforting anymore but they can still be part of our lives.
I have baked lays with my subway and I have an baby cone if I'm out with my kids but I don't over indulge as since my gallbladder was removed in Janaury- my body tells me when I've had too much of something .Ughhh I'd rather not suffer.

Me...I have a bath for 30 minutes with a good book.  I read a lot so books are my treat.  I get some plug ins or a new candle.  I go for walks or get hugs from the kids.  Those are rewards for me.  I don't have a lot of money so I don't try to buy too much too often.  ANd sometimes food is a reward for me still (I know that it seems silly, but it is)  It isn't just the food though.  It's a date with hubby where I can put on something a little sexier and go out alone with him for supper.  I like that as my  body shrinks I turn him on more...that is also a reward.

CHANCE>>>>>  I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!!!  I have read those books so many times they are starting to fall apart.  I think that going to Orlando would be a great reward!  If I ever get enough to afford it I am going no matter what!  Harry rules!!!  LoL!

Ooooooh.....a bath. I would love to have a bath, but I can't yet. Still have a bit of an open wound and since my surgeon said no swimming until it heals, I'm using the same rule on the incision for the tub. Once all heals though, I'm going to get some nice BIG candles and get out my strawberry chocolate bubble bath and hop in. AFTER the tub has been cleaned of course. (Hubby and I have his brother living with us and he leaves such a mess in the bathroom. I REFUSE to go in that bathroom and have taken over the upstairs one for myself. lol)

I think my biggest reward is going to be going to Banff for hubby's birthday at the end of July. I'm hoping to be able to fit into the swimsuit I wore the first time we went to Banff together.

Still..... I don't treat myself to anything when I reach a goal.

*hugs*

I'm glad there are some other Harry fans on here! I used to feel weird about being so nutso over childrens books- but since I have started ready more and more of them, they are often so brave and face real issues so much more directly then books for grown ups!

But I digress...

I have a little impulse control problem OBVIOUSLY... but I am one of those people who if I want something I just go get it, so having a goal that is out of my reach for me to just "go get it" is one of the few ways I can reward myself, because books and food and clothes, makeup, hair cuts, manicures... etc. I get the idea and I just do it. So, I need it to be something that is over the limit on my credit card, several times over.

I feel I should mention that my lifestyle makes this possible. I am single, without kids and live alone. I would like to believe that my compulsions would not be as strong if I had to buy diapers or groceries for more than me.

I love to `treat`` myself. I use non food rewards all the time(for sanity sake) I have a spa day once a month and I get a pedicure and massage and my hair trimmed...some months I add the chiropractor in there too. most days are topped off with a few perchases from Wal-mart.  I love to shop and have a weakness for clothing ( And yes I buy clothing way to small for me in like a size 10 or 12 in all hopes that it will fit one day. I have a wardrobe that goes from size 6 up to size 24. I yoyo so much that I have gooten into all my 14`s once but then gained it back and once again a size 22.)
I think non food rewards are a great way to keep us feeling good about ourselves... and  it helps to keep our mental and emotional self in balance. At least for me...I love my therapist, she`s amazing and is helping me through so much.
