How long was your bounce back time?
Just wondering what the average timeframe is from surgery to back to "normal" or back to work and lifting? I know that you're likely given a guideline and I'm trying to plan my summer around this in a way as I have no family here in Alberta .
My mom is in Nova Scotia and can come out help me out for 2 weeks and my hubby can take a 10-14 days off work plus up to 2 more weeks of holidays if need be. At that time I will have a 5 yr old and a 1 yr old to keep everything nice and chaotic!!! LOL
I know everyone heals and recoups at diffferent rates and all suregeries are different but I'm just wanting to hear your stories:)
Thanks!

Hi Kim,
Well I'm obviously not all the way through my healing and I'm by no means "normal" lol but I took 5 weeks off work (honestly, it was because I could, not that I thought I would need 5 weeks).
They tell us not to lift anything over 10 lbs for 6-8 weeks. I don't think that's realistic but I'm still going to take it easy for a while. Corey told me to do things when my body told me I could, he said my body would let me know if I couldn't handle it. He said "if it feels good, do it, if it hurts, stop" lol Corey is the best!
I'd say, if I wasn't getting paid for being off, that I would have taken at least 3 weeks off just to get back in the swing of things. I'm not so sure about lifting the 1 yr old, though, that might take you a while.
I hope that helps!
Jill
