i am 10 days post op
Hi all... I am now 10 days post op and feel amazing... i can't believe how wonderful i am feeling and how comfortable i am with all that is happening to me... will go for my walk now over to the cross iron mall... have been walking at least 40 minutes eachday in 10 and 20 minute intervals... i have done 90 minutes...also. Spent a couple of hours on my lounge chair sitting in the beautiful sun today... to soak up the vitamin D. this web site has been so helpful for me and I thank you all.. tammy
Well, things for me aren't quite as good as you!
I'm in quite a bit of pain on my right side and yesterday I started feeling a hard lump about 2 inches lower than one of my incisions. I called in but they think I should be ok. I made an appointment with my family doctor for today anyway just to have him check it out.
I'm finding that I have very little energy. I'm forcing myself to do things, though, because I don't want to just sit there. I find that I get winded going up and down the stairs, but I've been really trying to do it more and more to build up my endurance again. This weekend will be great, I'll be able to spend some time outside and I love that, especially being out in the country where it's so quiet.
Things are getting better each day, though, so I can't complain too much! lol. I'm eating some homemade lentil soup, oatmeal, yogurt, and protein shakes. I'm finding that crystal light and SF popsicles really help to get the liquids in. Although, I can drink more than just a little sip now so the swelling must be going down. I'm really looking forward to the 20th when I can start introducing solid foods. I'm getting sick of full fluids lol, but I'm following the rules because I don't want to push my stomach more than it can handle.
Are you still really bruised up? I'm finding where ever they injected the heparin I have the biggest purple nasty bruises and as they are healing they are really itchy!

I hope you're starting to feel better now. Hopefully you took the day to rest and let your body heal up.
I went to my doctor and he told me that my pain was all the muscles that they had moved around during surgery. He said even the back pain was part of that because the part of the stomach that they're working on is closer to your back. He doesn't understand why doctors give out T3's, he says there is a much better drug similar to tylenol that doesn't have all the nasty side effects and it's called "Tramacet". I took one when I got home this afternoon and honestly, I can sit up and I feel very little pain. It's great, so if your pain continues and normal tylenol doesn't help, maybe get some of that.
Have a great night!
