Let's get to know everyone.....
Hi I'm Keelan and I live in a smaller town west of Edmonton. I moved here from back east 4 years ago. It's certainly not home but it'll do. I work at a seniors lodge and enjoy it very much. At the moment its only casual work but it's not so bad having time for yourself.
I will be turning 35 later this summer and I have struggled with weight since I have been 16, there isn't a diet out there that I haven't tried. I recently found out that I have PCOS and that contributes to my weight struggles, also I have a very low metaboltic rate and thats another strike against weight lost but I'm determined to get this weight off and keep it off.
I am involved with a wonderful man, hopefully soon I'll be his wife and not just his girlfriend. We have no children but hopefully with weight lost and getting healthy God will bless me with a child.
I have been in the weight wise program since July of 2009 and will soon be seeing the internist and I'm so hoping that he'll agree that weight lost surgery is for me. I pray every night for a change to have a new life and a healthy happy one.
Thanks to everyone for posting on this site and I hope that everyone continues to do so. It makes going through this journey a little easier to know you're not alone. I am human and there are others out there like me.

Yes Keelan, I'm sorry I don't remember your face but that is right. My hubby and my sons were with me that day.
Hope you're doing well and getting through the everyday hurdles that life seems to throw at us.
I was diagnosed with Pcos too in '06 and struggled to get pregnant with my second child. Suffered a m/c and alot of disappointing months. Even losing 10% can be a huge help in regulating cycles and ovulation. Best wishes when you travel down that road and hopefully your surgery date is coming soon too!!

Hi All.. Im Michelle. I live in Fort McMurray. I have been here 10 months now. Im from Vancouver but have been in Ontario for the last 11 yrs or so.
I had surgery on May 6 2009. I have lost a great deal of weight. Seem to have stalled at 170ish for aibt now but am getting back on track.
I am one of the few people that has had issues with RNY, I now suffer from some mild depression and panic attacks. Both new since the surgery.
I went to Detroit to have surgery as the wait time was much shorter than waiting in Ontario.
Im married and have been 9 yrs now. I met husband on the interent.
Im looking for a support buddy to keep in email contact with and be a support team.
Its great to meet you all

We have one cat that we call our baby as he is very spoiled.. " Dipstick "
As for work i do remote video monitoring for a security company.. which i love.. I watch 4 --- 42 inch screens and watch for stealing , vandalizm. drug deal ect.. My hubby works at the casino with my son so we basically all do security work in one form or anther...
I was born into a Military family and well canada was home from Winnipeg to Victoria, then spent 3 yrs in Ireland ( mom was from there ) and 3 yrs in Germany. Parents posted there.. Moved to Edmonton Alberta in Oct 86. Haven't left..
I have been married 2 times. my first lasted 6mths.. kicked him out.. second lasted well ( still married) he walked out went for a pop decided to take my car, clean out my account and move back to mommy... LOL
I just had RNY a week ago today. its amazing time flies.. Still dealing with the tiredness and have a minor complication with an incision but no biggy.. I joined WWC in Feb 2009. started full force after initial assesment April 2009.. So I guess from start to now its only been 2 yrs.
I believe this is a new journey that i have always deserved to be on but never took the time to allow myself to do something for me.. SO when I started.. that was my goal.. No matter what ..This is for me.
