Let's get to know everyone.....
Hello..
My name is Brenda and I live in Edmonton Alberta. I work for the teacher's union (government job) and enjoy it very much.
I will be 51 this June
I was divorced three years ago after 25 years of marriage. It is what it is....
Getting married again to a wonderful man on May 8, 2010
We met on Plenty of Fish (dating site) July, 2006....scary but we only had our profiles on for a few weeks till we met....fate I say!
I have three wonderful daughters....23, 21 and going on 19
My fiance has four boys...25, 23, 18 and 17. So we will have a Brady Bunch family.
We have two cats, Kaboom and Nitro and a chocolate lab named Layla.
I walk our dog everyday for about an hour (two sessions) and I do pilates on Tuesday nights and Zumba on Wednesday nights. I enjoy interior decorating (currently doing major renos in our home), shopping (ofcourse), movies and classic pop/rock and hiking. I am a hippy at heart!!!
We are very busy with our blended family....and loving everyday! Finding love in your 40's is awesome...
I am currently being referred to Dr Davey for a tummy tuck. I still am losing weight, but I wanted to be on the "list" as it takes awhile.
This journey is a ride of life...and I plan on living a long time!

So nice to 'meet' you Brenda! Thanks for starting this thread!
My name is Relene and I live in a small rural communtiy 2 hours east of Edmonton. I work with persosn with developmental disabilities and I love it:) I have 4 lovely children ages 11 (almost 12) 8 and twin 6 year olds. I have been very busy raising them together with my hubby of 12 years. We have a tank full of fish, a gerbil, two cats (Phil and Lil) and a poodle named Buddy and 2 pomeranians named Taz and Bear. So with all that plus all the WW appointments my life has been on fast forward for about 6 years!!!! LOL!
I have been with the Weight Wise program for just over a year. I really like it and I am currently waiting to get "the call". I will be having my CT scan this week as well as attending the Preparing for surgery class on Friday. I am so looking forward to this journey. I can't wait to take the next step even if I am a little frightened. This board has been a god send and I am happy I stumbled upon it a few weeks ago:) So hats off to you all who are helping me through this!
I have been enjoying aquasize twice a week all winter. Being from a small place my options are limitied, but I try to get to the pool when I can. We do family bike rides in the summer and had done a few before the storm hit on Friday. Now I wait for the snow to melt so we can get back at it. I also enjoy walking and have pledged to increase to 30 minutes a day all this week. I'm gonna have to make time to squeeze this in as I am in the city 4 out of 5 days this week, have to take my son to taekwondo tournament on Saturday and work on Sunday. I guess that's why they call it a challenge!
Anyway I better not take up all the space or I won't get to 'meet' anyone else!
Thanks for keeping this board active!

Hello,
My name is Chrissy, I just turned 31 and I live in a small city 1 hour southeast of Edmonton.
I have been married for 11.5 years to my best friend. We have 2 preteen girls ages 9.5 and 10.5.
I work as a booking clerk in a large private medical office. I love my job!!! We have a small Zoo at home, we have a Yorkie named Georgie, a rabbit named Roxy and 2 hermit crabs. Both my girls are active in the community, Boys and Girls club, Association for community Living, Teakwon-do and swimming. Last year they were in Dance too.
I enjoy swimming and I love to walk on my treadmill when I have time. Its under a pile of boxes cause we just moved and I haven't had time to unpack it yet. I am a crafty person and enjoy making floral arrangements and all sorts of crafts including cake decorating and sewing.
I love to read and have a keen interest in Historical romance. My fav author is Philippa Greggory. and my fav time period is the Tudor and Elizabethian.
I love to bake and garden too all when I have time. I enjoy road trips and hope to get a bike this year so I can go riding with my girls around town, we are big on being Eco-friendly right now, hope it sticks.
I am currently waiting to make the referral to Dr. Farries( I have a few patients at the moment to go on his List) On May 3rd 2010. I am also scheduled to go in for a hernia repair next month.
My family is very supportive of my decision to have this life alterating surgery/tool. I am very excited to have found this site and meet all you wonderfull people.

I'm Lori and live in Lethbridge, although my heart is in northern Alberta and in Spruce Grove. lol (I have family in both places hehehe). I'm just a homemaker who loves photography, travel, card making, cooking, baking, collecting recipes..... lol I turned 37 exactly 1 week after my surgery. I had surgery March 29 this year after waiting since November 29, 2006. I'm married to a wonderful guy and our 4 year anniversary will be coming up on July 7. We met on a dating site that is no longer in service called FindSomeone. I wasn't really looking for anyone, but we just clicked and things went from there. We met back in March 2005. I moved to Lethbridge in August 2005. I have a cat (a cute calico) named Miss Mew who will be 5 in June. Currently, she's our only pet.... we would love to get some fish. I love old tv shows like Threes Company, original series Star Trek, Flintstones, and Britcoms like Are You Being Served? and Keeping Up Appearances.
I had my consult for my RNY back in June of last year, and got in for surgery a month early due to another patient wanting to swap dates. Just got my G-tube and staples out today and I feel like a new person without them. :-D
Looking forward to this journey quite a bit!!!
*hugs*

Hi Everyone! Nice to learn a bit about all of you!
My name is Chancy... but anyone who knows me for an hour calls me "Chance." I am 28 and live in Hinton, but have a job interview on Friday in Edmonton- so here's hoping! I've been engaged but never got married, but the good news is I dont live in my parents basement any longer!
I currently work in a gas plant in the middle of nowhere and I love the guys I work with, but I am tired of living in camp. I have been at this almost two years and putting my life on hold while away each week is something I am just not willing to do any longer.
I have my assessment on April 28th and am still attending modules. I am journaling and trying to get my steps in. I was doing really well at getting 10k steps but I have a broken bone in my right foot from an accident in 2007 and it has been really bothering me- so I am struggling with my exercise, but have been in for more xrays on the foot so maybe will get it taken care of!
So nice to get to know you all!

I'm Kim and I live inFox Creek, Alberta ( small town along the 43 between GP & Edm) and I'm a stay homemom.
I'll be 31 in May and will also be celebrating my 6th wedding anniversary next month as well.. My husband and I have met online also and I moved from Nova Scotia to Alberta in July 2003. I've been here ever since and couldn't be happier to have found the most loving and supportive man in the enitre world.
Together we made the most adorable boys....baised I know LOL My oldest son will be 5 on June 10 and my baby will be celebrating the big 1 on June 1. They keep me busy along with our 6.5 yr old Saint Bernard. I am so happy to have a new active outlook on life and enjoy getting down and playing with them instead of being my former lazy self.
I have a gym membership and was hooked up with a cardio program with a personal trainer but I somehow have lost my way to the gym and have been off the horse for 4 months now. I hate when you stop doing something- it's so tough to make the commitment to get back. For me Christmas got in the way, then I had my gallbladder removed in January, followed by a family trip to Disneyland late Febraury. Fast forward to now and I'm gearing up for golf season. I think it'd help to have a gym buddy but I seem to be on my own in this journey. My friends that say they are ready to lose weight and get healthier are just not at the same point I am and that's fine-- I can and will do this one my own!! :)
I love golf, Bellyfit & Belly dancing class ( Tuesdays ), reading, travelling, livign a healthy lifestyle and of course, SHOPPING!! Went to California inFebruary and I could buckle that belt for the first time in 7 yrs WITHOUT a seatbelt extension andhadslack to pull it tightAND put the armrests down!!! YAHHHHHH
The reason I am in Weight Wise is due to a lady I met at Addition Elle in 2007. This lady was talking to one of the assosiates about having a tummy tuck. I looked at my hubby and said something along the lines of " she's 200 lbs and had a tummy tuck!?!?!" Well...I went over to her and inquired about how she had lost a whooping 200lbs. She told me about Dr.Davey and the bariatric clinic at the RAH. She showed me her license and her old self. I was so taken aback at the transformation. I got her name and thanked her for opening my eyes to what I could have too. She told me I was tiny-- I had to laugh. I know I was over 300lbs at 5'2. Tiny yes in height but I was as tall as I was wide. LOL Thank you to her !!
I got my doc to refer me in March 08, got the call to got to oreintation in March 09, was pregnant and had to put it off til June, and then the clinic called a week later to have me come in for my 1st day of the rest of my life on August 6, 2009!!
I go to the city in the morning to meet with my rn, rd and the doc. I'm hoping to be on the way to see the surgeon asap. I'm excited but also nervous that I'm going to get a NO from then becasue of the weightloss I have experienced on my own thus far. I know I need to the help to continue on my path to success as, even though I have lost 65 lbs since being in the clinc and 81 in total but my BMI is still 45.
I'm ready to add years to my life, I'm ready to run with my kids, I'm ready to spend LOTS of money on clothes that don't have XXX's in their size and I'm ready to live a long time.
Nice to meet you all too!!

Anyway I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well with your weight.
Wishing you all the best.

SARAH!!! You are my booklist buddy! I just finished the immortal instruments series and am starting the Artemis Fowl books. I can recommend loads of books if you are interested. I keep telling myself that I am reading them all as research and that I will be writing a book of my own soon- but so far I am enjoying the research too much to even attempt to start writing.
READ: Suzanne Collins - The hunger games and Catching Fire. (there is a 3rd book but its not out yet.
If you liked the lovely bones, try "The Body Farm" by Patricia Cornwell (Its morbid but brilliant)
Also, The Golden Compass, the Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman (the trilogy is called "His Dark Materials" .
Maybe we should start a monthly book club?
