I had lunch with my hubby today (his first day back to work since my surgery on March 29), and after I dropped him off, I decided to walk around Costco just to get my walking in. I remembered my dietician saying something about calcium at Costco, so I decided to check it out. Found out that they have 1 liter bottles of calcium citrate for $8.99!!!! Much better price than what my hubby paid the day I got discharged from the hospital. I think he paid $11.99 at Superstore. So........ $8.99 at Costco for 1 liter and it's citrus flavored. Definitely worth renewing my membership for. lol Had to pass this on to you all too.

Hope you're all staying warm. It's snowing here in Lethbridge. Looks like we're to get up to 10 cm. WHOO HOO!!! Yes, I'm sick... I loooooooooove the snow. lol

*hugs*

Also,,,,Costco has awesome protein bars called Detour.

OMG to die for...they range about 170 calories...15g of protein...a perfect snack for when I am walking my dog.

Thanks

Thanks!  I haven't eaten a protien bar yet, but I am guessing they recommend them after surgey?  Also I am only on Vit D (it was low) and a multi vitamin.  DO you think I will be on more post op?

The multi vitamin that Krista (my NUT) put me on was a prenatal one...and I have about 1200mg of calcium CITRATE a day too. I found the Jamieson chewable calcium is awesome...I eat two of those a day ( one in the morning and one in the afternoon), It also has vitamin D.

When I had my lab work done last month, my vitamin D was a tad low...Krista said with the summer coming and my going to Mexico next month for my honeymoon, should take care of that...otherwise all of my bloodwork was awesome.

So really not everyone has to take tonnes of vitamins. That's a relief!

Not sure about VSG...but it shouldn't be any different than RNY.

As long as you eat healthy...keep your protein up..you wont' have a problem.
