Today is a good day!
I'm not dead even though my lurking through the new year might say otherwise.
I’m just sending a quick note to say that I’ve passed a major milestone. 100 lbs lost from my highest weight and I’m feeling pretty good about it.
Down 46 lbs since VSG surgery
Down 81 lbs since pre-op liquid and surgery
Down 104 lbs total (I like the new signature!)
Cheers!

Thanks CM!
For advice, I've got a few trinkets of information.
First, be prepared to drink disgusting fluids. First when you are being admitted prior to surgery. Second when they do the leak test afterwards.
Bring slippers/crocks for the feet as you will be walking around either the day of or the day after surgery. Bring a sleeping mask and earplugs. You won't get any sleep in the hospital without them. The lights are on constantly and the room door never stays closed.
Skip the TV rental, as you should only be in there for 1-2 days and you may be resting for a good portion of it. Bring a book or newspaper instead. Don't be afraid to use the call button.
Take it slow. From eating your first meal (jello, pudding, apple juice) to leaving the hospital, to recovering for the first few days. It took me about a week to ten days to get back to normal. After that, it was a like a vacation while I waited to see Karmali to get approved to return to work. I could have gone back after the 10 days. YMMV.
Finally, don't worry! The medical staff is ace and the treatment is top notch. Time is going to fly now. Good luck!
Cheers!

How are things going for you these days anyway?
My wife is doing well post surgery. She's lost almost 40lbs since surgery and close to 70lbs since starting the WW clinic. So, she's pretty happy. If she could only get her other health issues in check. We are off to see a pulmonologist on Tuesday. She's been having chest pain for the past week. Blood work and CT scan are clean and there is no clear indication of what may be wrong, but something is definately wrong. Our GP is worried that she may have some lung damage given that she had pulmonary embolisms a couple years ago. We're hoping that's not the case and crossing our fingers. And 2010 had started off so well...*sigh*
Cheers!
