i have no luck...ANOTHER complication!
For anyone who doesn't know, I had gastric bypass on march 3, 2010 and on march 4, 2010 I underwent emergency exploratory surgery where they discovered I had a twisted bowel.
I now have another symptom that they are clueless.
Has anyone ever had this complication???
I have a pressure pain about 3 inches below my collar bone. I went to the er last night where they thought I was having a heart attack. They ruled that out.
They did some blood work and the blood clot test came back positive. I did a ct scan this am where they ruled out anything life threatening.
I do have an appointment with my surgeon on tuesday but the pressure feeling almost feels like something is stuck in my throat, but it doesn't move.
The dr sent me home with perkoset and that doesn't even touch the pressure feeling.
Anyone ever have this feeling before? I have a feeling my surgeon will scope me but I was hoping to have some in site into this.
They also ruled out acid re flux. The pressure is at its worst when I try to eat or drink.
I was dehydrated which they fixed at the hospital with iv fluids.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jen
Sorry to hear that you had to go back for major surgery the day after you had your WLS. I ended up with the same complication - at 17 months post-op. G-tube for a month after I went home - the whole nine yeards. It is just a bad memory now. Your pressure type feeling sounds so much like symptoms people get when they have a stricture. I'm no doctor though - just going by what you describe. You see your surgeon tomorrow I think you said - I imagine he will probably do a scope -EGD - same thing. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon!
PS- The blood work that shows if you have a clot or not is called "D-Dimer". And - it can be positive even if you don't have a clot - that's why they did the CT scan.
