We talk about our own going for surgery and then coming backand itbeing aburden on our healthcare system..What about every immigrant that lands and is handed free healthcare the day they arrive!! Maybe they should be paying for the health services they recieve.

Just my thought....

It seems to me that if you live in Edmonton you may be biased in your thinking. Do you think there are bariatric surgeons in every corner of Alberta? Well there is not! I am from the Red Deer area and there is no choice here. There is one surgeon who will do lap band surgery. (Not an option for me) He only takes a few patients a year, on one day a year.  And then you must be a BMI of 40 or more. The only program in the province in located in Edmonton. There is no way I could be in that program because of logistics. So what is my answer? Move to Edmonton?
