thanks, perhaps it will...it's just been so long already and when you see others in the states that decide they are going to have surgery it seems everything is done within 6 months and they are on their way!!

Congrats! I am going to the weight wise clinic in Edmonton and  I know it can be a long process, but I think the after-care is so crucial to be successful. I looked into going to Mexico for surgery... but given a choice I wanted my doctor close and I want to make certain that my aftercare was in place before I jumped to anything.

Also, I had been booked for my assessment at the end of October, but I called to check for cancellations and got bumped to April 28th. So keep calling and you might luck out!

yes i agree it is better to have doctor after care available as well as comfort with the dietician and his office.
good to hear about your bump up! :)

Right on!!!! See??? Persistance pays off.

I stopped calling for a cancellation for the surgery before the end of last year. I figured there was no point as my surgery is at the end of April. I have about 8 weeks to go. All I think is that my original consult date wasn't until January 26, 2011, and here I am having surgery April 26, 2010! lol

I'd still call in for cancellations if I were you. You'd be surprised at how many people actually will back out from having the surgery. When I was calling in for cancellations for the consult, I was told that there was a surgery cancellation, but they wouldn't give it to me as I hadn't had the consult yet. lol

Best of luck while you're waiting!

*hugs*

Congrats on getting your date. The time will fly for you, I just know it. It did for me! I broke that year down to months and made a goal for each month to prepare for surgery, like April I stopped drinking diet coke every morning, May cut out fast food and so on. It really helped to establish good habits prior to surgery and that way I did not have the withdrawls that others talk about.

Take care.

Just wanted to suggest myfitnesspal.com as a great tracking tool.I have yet to search for a food in the database and not find it.

I love it because I hate carrying around a book with me to record everything and I can do it from any computer so the people in my life dont even realize I'm tracking because it just looks like I am working or checking my email. I like to have some secrets!
