Looking for Bandsters around Edmonton!

Anyone out there that has been banded, and living central Alberta, near or in Edmonton?
I'm in Drayton Valley, and am getting banded in a week, Feb 23 2010.
I'm booked in with Dr.Corvala at the Hospitla Angeles in Tijuana, MEXICO.

How is it going? I haven't seen you on the board for awhile?  How is your weight loss? Mine is crawling now...I lost a lot in the beginning...like most do. I am almost at my first goal though..hopefully I can get there before my year anniversary in May.

I live in Spruce Grove and am getting the Lap Band at the Alec with Dr. Birch on the same day!! Day 2 of liquid diet today.

How much did you have to pay for your surgery?  Where sis you have it done at?  I am bery interested but it seems like I have to go to Toronot to have it done. 

I am in the Weight Wise program through Alberta Health Services and do not have to pay anything. It is a multi disciplinary program led by an amazing genius, Dr. Sharma, and requires a doctors referal. I am having my surgery at the Royal Alex in Edmonton.

I used to live in Spruce...my ex still is there lol.

Liquid diet...sucks...I know...when you get past day 3 it seems better....you can do it...you didn't get this far to blow it now!

I love Spruce Grove, we've been here for 2 years and have been totally happy. The thing about the liquid diet that is killing me is the monotony of flavours: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. Yesterday one of my friends mentioned she was eating sugar free Jell-O so I got some last night and it is a nice addition. I also bought a big box of sugar free Nestea individuals mixes. Very nice as well. It is day 4 and I have not gone above 1200 calories in a day and don't plan to!!
