Protien..Ideas?

So, my last blood test said...LOW PROTIEN LEVELS! Opps! So, I'm back on protien shakes and wanted to know if any of you have tried the "protien bullets" that people of talked about on the site and if they are available in Alberta. I heard maybe Wallmart but I couldn't find them. Or, how about a non-taste protien powder that I can add to milk or cooking? I know I can use double milke ( adding skim milk powder to milk) but before I try that I thought I would check with my OH family.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have been purchasing liquid and powdered protein over the web from bariatricchoice.com and they have been very palatable.  I like the cappuccino, hot chocolate and lemon razzy in the powers (BariWise) and the kiwi melon and green tea with cranberry (ProtiDiet).  I also tried their bullets (3oz shot of 42 grams of protein) and they are not as palatable as the others.  They kind of have a salty taste to them so I would only get a couple at first to try.

Today I found and have ordered a protein powder, sold in tubs or singles, from Weider.ca called Good2Go.   They are 90 cals, 20 grams of protein but the best part is only 1 carb.  I bought the singles at 10/box for $17.00, so not bad price wise either.

Finding good tasting high protein but low carb options is not that easy so I'm thrilled to find this 1 carb only option.  Once I receive them and try them I can let you know how palatable the are if you like?  I ordered over the web cause I'm in northern AB so there aren't many shopping options for me to find it but if you are in a city I would assume with this being a Weider product that a GNC or health food store would also carry it.

Good luck in your search!

You can try a product called Beneprotein, which is used in hospitals for very sick patients.  I add it to my oatmeal, cereal, juice etc... it has no taste (not vanilla flavoured) and I found that the cost is very reasonable.  One can is $15.00 and has lasted me a month.  Try calling drug stores for it.  Not at Walmart.

Speaking of protein...does anybody know if there is a difference in soy, whey etc.?

I have been buying the Weidner soy protein powder at Walmart. One scoop equals 115 cal...and 26 grams of protein. I love it in cooking especially and my protein chai tea.

My bloodwork was awesome a few months ago...and I need some more lab work done soon.

My year anniversary is coming up in May...(already)...and I feel awesome.  I still want to lose about 30 bls or so...coming off slowly now...but my NUT is extremely happy with my results.

She told me...ENOUGH looking at the scale...start thinking of the goals you made for yourself.....so far..I have accomplished them all except for the amusement ride one...time will tell exhibition time in July :)

Hiya Donna,
What is the name of the liquid protein you found at Walmart and how much is it?  I would like to check when I am in Edmonton next trip.
Thanks,
Sharonda
