Howdy all,

I was the Capliano Walmart and found the Isopure protein drinks.  They have the grape frost and alpine punch flavors.  The grape frost is pretty good - LOL better than some of the putrid protein drinks I have tried.

I bought a 6 bottle pack for $10.00.  I wish I had found this for right after  my surgery but still need to top up my protein periodically.

I have been scheduled for surgery for the lapband on December 15.

How has it been going for you? How much weight have you lost?

I try to stay away from the scale as it becomes too obession/ compulsive for me. LOL

The last time I was weighed was at the WW clinic on Oct 19, I had lost 17# from my surgery.  I was losing and average of 2.4# a week.  I am still losing but don't know how much.

I have completed my measurements recently and have lost 3 inch off my bust, waist and hips and 1.5 off my airms and thighs.  A whole 12 inches off my body.  WOO HOO!

I go for a second fill on the 24th and will get weighed then.

All in all, things are going well.  I haven't had many problems with eating only 1 cup of food per meal and have eaten out on several occassions without incident.  I am hoping that I will eat less once I get my second fill.

I did have some gas issues after my first fill that seemed to take a couple of weeks to get over.  I pushed my second fill back by 3 weeks because of this.  It seems that everyone has stuck gas issues after surgery (which I did) but then I had the same thing happen after the fill but more intense.  I have IBS so that may be part of that problem.

Are you getting excited about your surgery?  I was up and about within a couple of hours of having the surgery.  The hardest part was not being able to drink anything until the next day.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

I am very excited and nervous at the same time.

How many days did you spend in the hospital?

Does it hurt to get the fills?

TY for the info.

I was in the hospital overnight.  I had to wait for residents to do their rounds, the next a.m., before I could drink anything.  Once that was okayed, they gave me a small glass of ice water.  It was so good!  But it made me feel a bit nauseous, I think I drank it too fast.  Then I had to eat some cream based soup, jello and drink some juice before I was discharged.

The fills don't hurt, you kind of do a crunch  (tighten up the stomach muscles) and the port is easier for him to see and then it is just the poke of the needle which isn't a big deal.  Very quick to do a fill, then on fluids until lunch the next day.

LOL, I was expecting a big needle but it is a normal sized needle.  My first fill was 3 ml.
