Where to buy cases of Ensure HP

Folks:

Now that I have my surgery date, I have been placed on the pre-op liquid diet.  My program consists of consuming 7 Ensure High Protien meal replacements a day until I have sugery.

Based on my calculations, I need 178 bottles of Ensure HP.  I know that you can get the standard 6 bottle pack from most anywhere.  i am wondering if anyone knows where I can buy the 24 bottle cases of Ensure HP?

Any advice/information would be appreciated.

Hi Xcalibur-check London drugs. I have been watching the prices and they went on sale about 2 months ago. They regularily go on sale at LD and try walmart. 

You might want to check with your nut also as mine gave the option of 4 ensure or 3 + skim milk.
My suggestion is first try all the flavors...before you buy as you might not like a flavor.
You have a 4 week preop??

 I know this really doesn't answer your question but is more of a question. Do you think that you could get the Dr to write a prescription for the ensure/ would the medical insurance cover it? Just an idea?

I don't know.  I never really thought about it.  I suppose that it depends on your medical plan.

For me, I don't have an issue covering the cost.  Since I am not buying groceries and eating out, I have money for the Ensure.  I would just prefer to pay less whenever I can.  From what I understand from others, the $10/6 pack price that I am paying is pretty good.  There are better deals out there, but you have to watch for them.  Given that my surgery is in 3 weeks, I doubt that I'll find a deal before then.

Hi. Just wondering when you were first approved for surgery. I am also with Dr. Karmali and was approved July 21 but have not received a surgery date. Would you happen to have his secretaries phone #?

And as for the ensure, I'm not sure but a friend that I work with has had the surgery and I will check with her to see where she purchased the Ensure.

I was approved on March 30.  I was called in mid-Aug due to a cancellation.  They wanted to  bring me in for Sept 14.  I declined.  So, then I was placed on the list for the first avaiable starting in November.  Hence, the reason I got Nov 4.

The person you need to check with is Lorraine Gutherie at Surgical Bookings.  She will know if you are on the list and can give you an idea of when to expect the call.  Her number is 780-735-5107.

I was approved on July 31st w/ Dr. Karmali, and spoke with Lorraine last week.  I'm not even on her list yet (but I am in the computer). She told me to call back in December... but that I'm probably looking at surgery in the spring.

Seems so far away still!!!! but it is getting closer...

Hi there,
Know anyone that works in a long term care home! They oreder it usually and get it at cost. I used to get cases of Ensure HP for 24 at $15..it was a really good buy!

i found the cheapest place to by hp ensure was rexall drug stores when they went on sale, which seems like every monthe or 2.....i paid $6.77 and cleared out 2 stores and 2 months later they went on sale again for $8.77 so i went and cleared out the same 2 stores again lol
