Awesome job!!

The body scan is .. interesting. They will take you into a room in your gown and underwear and nothing else. you lay on a table (at least at the HYS center) the nurse there will position your body the way she wants it. (Toes together heels apart.. thats the hard part, but my nurse taped my feet lol.) Then it scans you, it take about six mins for the first part and then she will do one of just your hip and one of just your spine.

It's easy and quick. i was in and out in less than an hour.

Let me know how it goes!

I attended Module #1 on September 8th.  I'm from Winnipeg, MB.  I've been journaling daily.  Since the beginning of Setember I've lost 9 Ibs.  I'm looking forward to my next appointment.  My sister will be traveling with me.

I'm taking a program here at a local fitness centre and it was very similiar to WW(Weight Wise). Of course I'm the biggest one there.  We have to weigh ourselves there as they(dieticians) don't do it; they call it "accountablity".  So when I stepped on the scale I said 'Holy ****!" they all probably thought I was shocked at the number the scale was showing me.  I was very shocked that I have lost 9Ibs since coming back from WW.

I was 415.6 now 406.2Ibs!  I'm making very short goal weights.  My next goal is to get under 399Ibs as I've been over 400Ibs for 10+ yrs.

My scale at home doesn't weigh me yet, my first goal is to be able to get on that scale.

hi everyone. i am in the weight wise program also. i travel back and forth from yellowknife. i am definately enjoying it so far. i have a question....does anyone know what the average timeline is for surgery? i want the gastric bypass. i have lots of weight to lose (about 200lbs), and i have been in the program since early june/09. so far, i have lost about 50lbs on my own.

I was told that the timeline depends on any number of things. Your health and mental state. Also you have to have a few visits with the docter and at least 2 with the psychologist. and it depends from there.

I started the program with my first official clinic visit in July. Initally I had my orentation in June of 09. I was told the new program is a 36 week one. Which is the one my orentation group is under. Again I do agree with the others that it takes time. I've so far had 2 visits with the clinic staff and looking forward to another one in November.

Good Luck and best wishes. Together we can win this fight with obesity.

Hi Kendra--and everyone new to the forum. How exciting to get a few more people on line. I have been going to the clinic a long time but have enjoyed the process. I also consider myself a lifelong clinic participant. The team approach has been great and I have learned a lot along the way. You will find the next months ahead filled with appointments and before you know it your life will start to slowly change. I remember when I first started I thought 'I can't lose weight.'  After a while you lose the first pound...then 10...and then you get the the formula. My advice is to be as compliant as possible and keep tracking your exercise and food.  Try to find a support person...and know there are going to be some ups and downs as you go through this. As the excess weight comes off you may have a variety of emotions. I read somewhere that fat cells store estrogen and as you release them emotions get tough. I haven't really experienced this...but have had to find other ways to cope without food (that make you happy).
Keep posting and reading. I am down 45 pounds.

I have my sleep study redo tonight and am looking forward to getting that done once and for all.  I've been sticking to a 1600 calorie diet and I am slwoly dropping weight. I need to add some more activity to my day so I bought ankle weights. I will wear them all day long and see if that helps.

Stay positive everyone!
