Employment Insurance Help !!

I am going to Mexico in December for my Plastic Surgery and I need to know if there are any special things that need to be done in order to apply for Employment Insurance Sickness Benefits because I will be out of the country for 2 weeks? If anyone has any experience with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is a 2 wk waiting unpaid waiting period so you should be fine to apply when you get back. Your family doc should be able to sign for it b/c the form does not require him/her to explain what your surgery is just that you are off for medical reasons and that he/she is a medical doctor etc.

Just be prepared to wait forever for it.  I am still waiting on mine and I applied July/09.
