Morning Ruby,
OH is great, tons of info to check out. I am in Lethbridge and I chose the DS wls. I was a self pay and went to Brazil, lol I know sounds crazy hey? lol lol I went last September . I have lost 110 lbs so far. Check out all the procedures. Just read like crazy and ask any questions you might have, most of them will already have been answered in old threads. Good luck , and welcome. It is quiet here because most of us post on the surgery forum that we had instead of here on the Alberta one. I am usually on the Duodenal switch forum .

Hi Ruby,
lol Brazil is far, I didn't know just how far until my butt grew numb on the long plane ride lol lol. I was a self pay because the procedure I chose isn't done here in Alberta. There are lots of great surgeons in the US who do it but I couldn't afford them, so off to Brazil. My surgeon is excellent and my choice had input from my family Doctor as well. Locally I think there is the lap band, the VSG ( which is called the sleeve) and the RNY. The others in Edmonton could talk about their experiences, but my Doc also recommended that clinic,He said they were really helpful and pleasant to deal with. Have a great week.
