Has anyone had the panniectomy surgery in AB?  I have heard that health care covers it, however the results are not very "pretty".  Can you pay extra to upgrade to a tummy tuck?  Are there before and after photos online?  Also, any names of a GREAT plastic surgeon in AB?  Thanks...

Hi--I haven't had the panni but if it is deemed medically necessary then it could be covered. I believe the wait is a long one...not sure about the results but you might want to check out the plastics forum. Good luck to you...please keep us posted

Hi, I had panni surgery Nov/08 in Medicine Hat & couldn't be happier!  It was deemed medically necessary to get rid of the overhanging skin, so was covered by AHC.  If you want a tummy tuck you will need to see a plastic surgeon & it would be considered cosmetic, so most likely not covered.
