Looking for people who have had Gastric Bypass, Lap Band or Sleave surgerys. I am willing to host monthly support meetings at my home for us to get together, chat and provide support to eachother as we face the new lifestyles these surgerys create. Our first meeting will be July 22 at 7:00 pm. We will meet at #117 12604 - 153rd Ave. Please RSVP Siann at 7809934469. I have a hard time getting online often so please phone rather than leaving a message on this site. ...or email [email protected] Please share this with anyone you know who may be interested.

Oh hey Brenda, I was also thinking of how well your doing these couple of days, this is such a busy summer, but I cant complain.

Im doing ok I guess, I gained a bit of weigth since surgery but its my own fault I havent eaten the healthiest so that is the cause.
I went to see the dietician this morning and hopefully Ill abide to his goals and rules, I goota put my head back in the game so im not a failure at lap band surgery.

Ive lost 23 pounds total since my 2 week pre op so not that bad i guess.

how much did you lose and how r u feeling,

r u going to the rah for the forum tonight i think i and shiann are going, to see what its all about.

take care

Just so everyone is aware, we have a bariatric surgery support group in Edmonton.  We meet monthly and the next meeting is going on Monday at 5:30pm at the RAH where the Weight Wise clinic is located.  EBSG is not officially supported or acknowledged by the WW program.  We are a group of pre/post op patients who meet  and provide support to each other.

We have an online presence in Yahoo groups at
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EdmontonBSG/.

If you want any further information, please let me know.

Cheers!

Piglet and anyone else:

Here is the meeting information.  Everyone is welcome to attend and you don't have to sign up for the Yahoo group.  Although, it makes it much easier to get the meeting schedule.

Date:   Monday July 13, 2009
Time:   5:30 pm - 8:00 pm  (However, it's fairly informal.  So, we could be out early)
Location:   Royal Alexandra Hospital, Community Services Centre
Notes:   Royal Alexandra Hospital, in the Community Services Building (separate building) first floor in the Jean Hamilton room.

CSC is the same building that the clinic is located in.  The Jean Hamilton room is where they have held the orientation session.  On the main floor, to the right of the vending machines, down the few steps and presto.  Door should be open.

Parking is available for one arm and one leg, as I'm sure everyone here knows.

Attendance is not confirmed weekly.  So, we may have 2 or 20 people.  It really depends.  There will be at least 2, myself and my fiancee.

Normally, we have a couple post surgery bypassers, and a couple banders from time to time.  We also have the first VSG patient in Edmonton, Claudia Farner.  I should be the second VSG member of the group this fall.  Still waiting for my surgery date.

I look forward to meeting whomever wants to attend.

Cheers!
