Plastics Help

I'm not a year out yet but I only have about 20 more lbs to lose before I have hit my goal. I have started thinking about plastics (as i'm sure the research will take me a long time) I am just curious if anyone knows if there are any good plastic surgeons in Alberta...or anyone in neighboring provinces with WLS plastics experience. I am also wondering about rough costs. ( Is going to the states a lot more expensive?)  I will probably need a LBL/TT, BA, and arm lift. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am heading to Mexico to have my plastics done - I did see a PS in Alberta - wont put his name up because I thought he was awful and I dont want to publicly bash him. Price wise for  Tummy tuck and implants in Edmonton it was quoted to be 17,000.00. I am paying $8500 for a full tummy tuck, implants, my flight, post op garments, all meds and 2 weeks to recover at a hotel. If you want any information please drop me a line.
GOOD LUCK!
I do think your Doc does Panni removals for free if my memory serves me correctly? Maybe call his office and see?

Yes he does offer a free panni but I would rather not have the scarring that comes from that...a tummy tuck would serve my interests much better. i would love to hear more about ur route...i never thought about mexico.

There is a difference between a tummy tuck and a panni? Tell me more...

The way it is explained to me was that a Panni is more of a reconstructive procedure where a abdominoplasty is cosmetic. The way my surgeon performs the panni ( not sure if this is the same with everyone) but it involves a hip to hip incision as well as a navel to breast bone incision...where the TT only has the hip to hip (which is a lot easier to hide). There is also no muscle stitching in the panni and therefore u dont end up with as good of a final result. Each procedure gets rid of the flab but depending on ur expectations for the outcome a panni might not be what ur looking for.

From a year of looking at plastics here is what I have found out - TT can be anything really - depending on your DOCTORS definition, some docs do hip to hip, some do flank to flank, some do the anchor cut breast bone to pubic and hip to hip. the "medical" difference between a TT and a panni removal ( from what I was told) is the muscle repair involved - a panni is only the hanging skin removal. a TT is the internal repair of muscles and tissue plus shaping of the waist. Klynee girl, if you want to PM me I can give you all the details on my route to plastics in Mexico, I dont want to bore everyone on here with long posts about it...I guess Mexico is one of those ideas people either love or hate. Having done my VSG there I found their healthcare system to be wonderful and honestly I prefer to be operated on there instead of in a Canadian Hospital, I even questioned going down there last year for an elective surgery that was covered by AHC becasue I think I would have gotten better care there - but didnt have time to get there and back due to work demands. SO, ask away I am more then happy to help anyone who wants the information.
Good luck!

Hello, I am going throught the Weight Wise program in Edmonton but live 6 hours north.  I am finding that I need to have some support with people who are in the same situation as me.  I envy people who live in the Edmonton area because they can take the modules a lot easier than I can.  When ever I come in to Edmonton I have to squeeze in my modules between my nut  and rn appt.

I'm hoping that I have come to the right place for on-line support while I wait and go through the program.  If not, could someone suggest  another group.

I'm interested in the online support group.

I have joined the Yahoo support group, they meet once a month at the RAH, but not a lot of people talk online... or at least to me.
