Just came home from surgery May 12
Help anyone
I just came home today from the RAH for Rouyen Y Gastric Bypass. I feel so swollen and am flushed and freezing.
Did anyone else have this problem, also I cannot lay on either side because of the uncomfortable feeling. I'm guessing it is because I am swollen inside.
If anyone can give my insight it would be truly appreciated.
Thanks
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, Welcome to the losers bench.
I also couldn't lay on either side and it was because of being swollen inside for sure. I slept sitting up off and on for the first 10 days or so but slowly I could roll over and sleep on my side and tummy.
As for the flushed and freezing thing. I didn't feel flushed but I'm still freezing. From what I read it's pretty normal.
Just take it day by day, hour by hour and you will get through the next month ok. It was about the 6 week mark that I really felt like myself again and now I'm starting to introduce foods back and so far so good.
Take care!

Thanks for your words of encouragement.....I wanted to try and go back to work today but i feel really tired....so will try one day at a time. I can now lay on my side with a body pillow, it seems to do the trick.
I'm not flushed but freezing !! Then again, here in Cold Lake, AB...we are experiencing colder than normal temps.
