Surgery Date is Near !!

I just hope the two weeks of liquid diet go ok. Three cans of Ensure and 2 cups of skim milk is going to be brutal.

Can you chew skim milk?  LOL

I am thinking of blending a can of Ensure with some ice cubes, making a smoothie for suppers...at least it will be a different consistency to the pallet.

I hope my two weeks of ensure go ok as well. I can have 4 cans of ensure per day with 2 cups of skim milk. the only probably is I hate milk. But I am going to do the same thing as you put some ice and blend them like a slushie drink hehe, hope that goes down better with the skim milk. I do love the ensure taste do so hopefully i dont feel week for 2 weeks with only drinking this.

Sorry, do you mean drink this before surgery??? or 2 weeks after surgery??  I am so confused ?? Ha Ha...sorry, doesn't take much

Oh No we have to drink that 2 weeks prior to surgery to shrink fat cells and liver. Usually before gastric bypass or actauolly any weight loss usrgery doctors recommend losing weight prior doing the ensure diet. Hope fhis helps. You mightg wsanna contact you dr. to see if you have to do it??? maybe that dr. doenstn exige it who know hehe I know Dr. karmali does and im only getting the lap band surgery.

All the Dr. told me was to lose another 5-10 lbs before surgery to shrink my liver.  I am a diabetic and drinking Ensure (which is probably full of sugar) would not agree with me.  But I have lost another 5 since seeing the dietician last.

I told my fiance I will probably wake up in the middle of the night knawing on his arm....or battle the dog for his soup bones

I start the liquid diet tomorrow....pre-op testing went well...I had to have an Echocardiogram the following morning....the pre-op doctor detected a slight heart mermer.  When I had my test they didn't see any problems...although they said it wouldn't stop the surgery anyway.

Everything is done now...just the liquid diet to go through and hopefully no bumps in the surgery date.

I am excited...scared....but happy as hell!

Hey Brenda--how did day 1 of the liquid diet go...are you ok...headache? grumpy? I cannot imagine what that is going to be like...hope you find a way to make it work

Had my first Ensure this morning...Vanilla....not as bad as I thought. By the end of the week I might be thinking different lol.

There are 5 different flavours now....vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, butter pecan and wild berry. So it should be ok.

What's going on with you? I don't know much about you. Would be nice to get together with some of the people in here and share stories.

I also like the taste of the Ensure. I dont know after havfing 56 cans if Ill think the same but I hope so.

You know what FyernRain, make sure that the Ensures are High Protein as those are the only ones we can drink, it was told to us at the orientation class.

I know I love the wild berry and the butter Pecan but I am not allowed to have it as its jusgt the regula Ensure, it needs to BE HIGH PROTEIN.  Yhou might wanna call your dietician and check it out.

Just to be on the same side, unless your case is different.
