Surgery Date is Near !!

Hi all....I have my  Rouy Y Bypass surgery booked for May 12 at the RAH with Dr. Davey.....I am so excited about this new and life changing journey.  Went for my Pre Op on Friday and the reality has set in.  Oh believe me I am scared but I have full trust in Dr. Davey and the staff.  Will keep everyone posted on my journey.

While working with the dietician i have lost 33 lbs since the beginning of November and the Dr. wants me to lose another 5-10 before surgery.    I'm working on it !!

Good for you, Im so happy, I m still watiting for my call they said I should get surgery before end of June. Rhonda, were you in the Weight Wise program for a while? Did you have to wait a long time for a booking date for surgery? Good luck

I live in Cold Lake and have been working with a dietician here....I first saw Dr. Davey in Bonnyville in October.  He first wanted to do my surger in January, but for committments at home I had to rebook.  I am very lucky to be having it so soon.  My hope is to be of insulin and meds very soon.

How much weight do you need to loose?  I have around 100-110 lbs...but I would like to loose more...

Were you in the March 19 Nutrician Class at the RAH?

There were a few of us... I managed to locate two others that were there.

My surgery is scheduled for May 19 with Dr Birch.  I am right behind you!!

My pre-op tests are this Thursday (April 30).

I am so excited....a little scared too....it's been a long one and a half years for me....but I am better for it...

I have not been to any nutrition classes at the RAH.  I have been seeing Dr. Davey since October of 08.  I have been keeping a food journal and seeing a dietician here in Cold Lake.  Pre-op is OK it's just long and boring.

Good Luck to you and your surgery.  As you, I am very excited but also very scared.  I will be insulin free in a very short time and of course feeling healthier and hopefully more energy.

If you go buy weigh****chers standard weight i would say i have about 150 lbs to lose.  I am 5/6" and now weight 315.  I was over 350 before seeing Dr. Davey, so for the most part I have done quite well.

That's great Rhonda....its' an awesome feeling to know we have all come so far in our battle with weight....I know surgery is the best for me.

My family, Dr, and friends are all on board with me....all are equally excited...what a blessing!

My family and friends are behind me too....Dr. Davey is very kind and straightforward, he told me "You need this"  Why does it take one so long for the lightbulb to go on.  Anyway, I am thankful for Dr. Davey and the team for helping me.

I will be thinking about you on your surgery date !!
