Have a date and still not sure which surgery
My apologise as well, and I hope your own journey through
this program turns out to be a positive experience, but for
me it has not. Its all so political, and has been a real
touchy subject for me, as far as Weight Wise goes.
The clinic is a pilot project, and I NEVER ONCE said that
it didnt help anyone who was struggling to lose weight. Ive
been in my own program going on 3 years now. And I have
been successful, so I guess I can walk away feeling good
about that. And Im a HUGE animal lover, btw, but being a
cat person I have a serious problem with all the little
ankle biters (present company accepted) out there nipping
at my character. Im really quite a nice person, though I am
opinionated, and I think we have to keep in mind that our
goals are the same here, no matter what our views happen
to be. Just dont judge me until you know me, and then you
can say whatever you like.
I'm also liking what I've been reading about the vertical sleeve. I have been doing the exact same thing, going back and forth between band and bypass for the same reason, what if I fail with the band. I'm 90% sure I will do okay with it but now the sleeve sounds really good, kind of halfway between the two. The bypass sounds so invasive, re-routing things. I know it's been a life saver for tonns of people but I'm not sure it's for me. One of the reasons I was going for the band is cause it can be reversed but why would I ever want to reverse it if I didn't absolutely have to. I never want to be this big again!! I go for my scope and phsyc appointment in May and see Dr. Farries on the same day so I am going to try to find out more about the sleeve. Has anyone heard for sure if he is going to start doing it? I'm sure he would referr us to someone else who does if he is not and agrees it is a good way to go but I don't think I want to start all over again with another surgeon!
If you're going through Weight Wise chances are they'll most likely try to shove the lap band surgery down your throat. I dont know know why they do that? Im certain it has more to do with saving the province money on the RNY's. In any case, whatever surgery you do end up getting I wish you all the success in the world.
