I Have My Date

Hi there

I think we were at the same meeting...I was sitting to the left of you. I think you were the only one in the room having surgery (bypass) with Dr Davies. I am with Dr Birch.

Anyways, I think Kelly is having her surgery south...as Dr Nohr is her Doctor.

I phoned Lorraine today and she told me I was third on the list...so it's getting there. She also mentioned it looked like around the end of May for me. She said she would be calling me within the next two weeks.

Nice, I actually called Lorraine today as well to see where Im at on the list. She told me there was 6 in front of me, so she said it will be June sometimes. I am so so happy, I cannot wait to get it done. i am actually getting the lap band surgery with Dr. karmalli, so you were sitting to the right of me right?? good for you on getting it done before me hehe, Let me know when Lorraine calls you and gives you your date or more info. That is great news!  I too got my surgery date (June 17).  I'm not sure which I'm getting though! I was definate about the band...but now I'm questioning that and I'm thinking the bypass might be for me. You'll have to keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

I know what you mean about deciding what surgery. I just figured band, the other was too dangerous, and I was too old. Then my friend from Okotoks had a band done in Nov and she has had absolutely no luck with it.  She went to the states after a fill in late Dec or early January and she had no restriction so is having a very hard time eating correctly.
Then I talked to Dr Farries and he told me he thought that I could get down to a weight I hadn't even dreamed of if I went with the the bypass so I did more research and found that a lot of people have the same trouble as Edie with the lapband. And then I decided that if I was going to do this it might as well be for a chance at getting to a nearly normal weight.
Anyway, read up on each one and then decide and once you do you'll feel better.

Congrats on your date and I will keep posting about how its going. One of my OH friends had her bypass done in Medicine Hat on March 16 and she is doing very well, so hopefully I'll do as well as she has.

Congratulations, on your surgery date. You are in good hands. Dr Farries is a awesome doctor. I have decided to wait a little bit as now I am leaning towards Sleeve and Dr Farries might be doing those in few months.
