Hello All

I am happy to say that  my gastric bypass has been booked for May 20, so 6 weeks from today it will be all over and I should be starting down the path to a new life.

Thanks, I have been seeing my surgeon since September 8th and have lost 49 lbs while waiting.
Who are are you trying to get to see?

Hi Nora--congrats on the 49 lbs..well done. I have lost  20 and I am having a head dilemma that maybe you (or others) can help me with. I (like you) lost some weight...yeah...but is there a small part of you that says...what if...what if I keep going and lose the rest? What if I could do it this time...
Any one else think about this?

PS I can hardly believe I just asked that but... it is so weird to see me write those words...all I have ever wanted was to have the sleeve surgery...freaky.

Truthfully - I have lost that 50 lbs at least 10 times in the past,  and I have never, ever, since last September when I started this journey ever thought that I would be able to keep the weight off without having the surgery.

I am 55 years old and I have been overweight for 40 of those years and I truly believe that this is the only answer for me. But if you have doubts you may need to stop and take stock, because it is a pretty drastic step so you'd better be sure.

Knowing that the surgery will help me keep on track is the only thing that has helped me keep going at this. I still need to lose about 120 lbs so 50 seems like a drop in the bucket.

PS I actually go by Joann but thanks for the congrats anyway

Good luck - whatever you decide!!

Hi Joann--I have lost it a million times also, and I believe the only reason I am doing well is that I know I am going to have a tool (vsg) to help me complete the journey...I don't know what I was thinking...thanks for the reality check.

ps 50 is a big number...

Thanks Kelly. I'm pretty pumped about the surgery, but my sister is not doing very well in her battle with cancer so I am spending lots of time with her and it gets you down.

It looks like you are doing very well, way to go.

Happy Easter.
