Hi everyone and happy holidays to you all.

I was up to the Edmonton clinic yesterday and had my first fill.  Just a small one (0.8cc) as Dr. Karmali thinks I am losing well still and he knows I want to go to Arizona for  a while and this will not cause me any troubles.

It was a piece of cake.  He just prodded around a bit , found the port, a little sting from the needle and done. He says in Feb he will do a more aggressive fill under flouroscopy when I come home from AZ.

The staff were great and I had a good visit with the dietician and got most of my questions answered so I feel confident to be able to go on our trip.

Still having trouble with the belching  but  I guess the old body has a lot of adjusting to do as the weight comes off so I live with it.
When I first went to the clinic I was 140.8 kg.  Today I was 123.4 kg.  I can really feel the change in my clothes and energy level.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Love Eydie

Hey Eydie,
Sounds like you are doing great. Hope you have a great trip to AZ. It will be nice to escape the cold weather for awhile. Merry Christmas. Nancy

Hi Eydie,
Well the weight loss is really good since I had the surgery. I am down about 35 pounds but ran into some trouble... I had a blockage on Dec 11. I ate some food and it seemed to get stuck and so Dr Birch had me go back of full fluids until Jan 5. So I am really struggling with that since it is Christmas and all. I am so tired of soup and smoothies but I don't want to end up in emerg during Christmas so I have been sticking to it. Dr Birch thinks one  of the sutures may be too tight and once disolved I will be able to tolerate solid food again otherwise I guess he will have to go in with the scope and dilate it. Are you happy with the band? How much food can you eat now in one sitting? Somedays I really wish I had gone for the band but have to stick with my decision now. I think things will get better soon.Nancy

So far I have lost 25 lbs (surgery was Nov 19th) since surgery and I lost 17 before that on the two week liquid diet., so 42 altogether.  I can hardly believe it. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think I look smaller other times I look down at my belly and think Oh no it is getting bigger.

I had such a little fill  on Tuesday that I am still able to eat quite a bit. I can eat 1/2 to 3/4 cup very easily and today my son made eggs benedict for breakfast and i think I ate too much.  I'm not hurting or anything , it just seemed like a lot of food.  I kind of wish he had done a bigger fill but I will get through until Feb 17 when I get my second fill.

I have had some trouble with belching and burning in my gut but I'm trying some Prevacid and it seems to help, at least with the burning.

I'm worry to heqr you  are having some problems and yes, full fliuds on Christmas is not great but it's only this Christmas......that probably doesn't help much, eh????? Hoope all is well for you soon ...you can get through this and next year we will be so much healthier that we will look back on this and know it was all worth it.

Merry Christmas and keep in touch.  I will be taking a computer with me to Arizona so I can still communicate.   Love Eydie
