Update - Weight Wise Clinic

In light of my post 6 weeks or so ago where I was complaining about the wait once a person is in the WW clinic, I wanted to give a bit of an update to explain that I have changed my attitude. I had my second appointments at the WW clinic yesterday (nurse, md and nutritionist), and I have to say I'm very impressed with the services they offer. I was very discouraged to find out that I have gained 2 lbs since my last appointment, despite being careful about what I ate. I wasn't ridiculed or put down - in fact I felt very supported - these people really understand. I really liked the approach the nutritionist had - rather than putting me on a strict diet, which is what I was expecting, she just talked to me about changes I could make to what I had been doing. It really made me take an honest look and admit that there were some things that I really do need to change. I now feel much more upbeat about the next 6 months to a year of proving myself as I now have a much better understanding of how this will prepare me for life after surgery - should I get to that point.

Based on the feedback that I've received from various people who have attended the clinic plus my own experience, 12-18 months seems to be about average.  The clinic is striving to bring those wait times down, but there were about 2500 people waiting to get into the clinic as of April 08.

Cheers!

Hey ive been in the program now for 3 years and trust me that time flys by with appointments.  I am currently scheduled to have the robotic gastric bypass on the 4th of December and im postive it was all worth the wait.  The surgeons and the doctors there are amazing and they have been with me every step of the way.  Good luck in your upcoming appointments.

i was referred to this program well over a year ago....and still no word from them..... in the meantime i went out of the country, paid for the surgery, and have lost over 100 lbs.....  saving the money wasnt worth the wait for me...i could have been dead by the time i ever got in for my fist appointment.
