Need a doctor who will refer me for surgery

Hi all! I'm in Edmonton, and need a doctor who will refer me to the weight loss clinic at the royal alex. I found a family doctor and asked her about it, and she just ignored my question and told me about weigh****chers and south beach. I've tried all that, and I can't seem to stick with them. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Have you tried a walk in clinic? My sister did that. They don't really know you and unless the are against the surgery they will likely do it? Paula

there is a form on the capital health webpage that the doctor has to fill in to make the referral. jusy search "weight wise" on the CHA webpage and print the form and take it with you. sounds like you need a new doctor-walk in might be an idea, except they need to know a little of your medical history to complete the referral. your GP should do it for you if you meet the criteria-which can also be found on the CHA webpage. i know you posted this a few weeks ago so you have probably taken care of it already! new to this site...good luck.
