HOW TO CHOOSE A DR.

Can any one recomend a good Dr. In mexico? There are many that do the band. I don't know anyone who has gone to mexico. I thought about Dr. Kuri because I see his name pop up a lot but I also see that a lot of people have problems with the port after. Who do people go to the most down there? Thanks tracie

I suggest going to a doctor here in Canada but that is just my opinion. I have heard too many stories of problems finding fill doctors here that won't touch you. For the extra bit of money and lack of problems ( language barriers/fill problems, etc) I would choose someone here in Canada. I went to Dr. Cobourn in Ontario and I can't say enough about the clinic and the aftercare. Weigh all of your options. Take care. Dawn

Hi Tracie Tracie I just got back from being banded in Denver Colorado by Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum. Both my 18 yearold daughter and myself had it done and we are less than 1week out and are doing great. the price is 9950$. The surgery center was excellent, looks like its a new building. I was in the OR at 12:20 or there abouts and I was discharged at 3:15. I have had no shoulder pain which they tell me means they got all the gas out of the abdomen area when the finished. I was off all pain meds by midnight that same night. He is a very experienced laproscopic surgon from what I hear. Go to lapband talk and read up on Dr. K. Or go to LapBand Rockies.com I thought that toronto was a bit pricey, so we opted for Denver and are very happy. I am from the Grande Prairie area in Alberta and I have found a couple of people in the are who do fills I plan on using a radiologist at the hospital where it is covered by Alberta Health and I asume they will us fluoroscopy. I really recomend DR.K. His price is great and the service was awsome . Lizzieann
