Well, things went from bad to worse. I ended up very, very sick and in a lot of pain. The doctors here said the band had to come out. So last Tuesday January 29 (exactly 6 months to the day that I had the band put in) I had to have surgery to get it removed. The plan was to go in laproscopically first and have a look to see if they could remove the band that way. However, the doctor said I was so full of infection that they couldn't see anything. So it ended up being an open surgery. I now have an incision that runs from just below my rib cage all the way down through my belly button. I spent one week in the hospital and just got home yesturday. This has been a long hard road and one I would never go down again. I am not out of the dark yet and have a long recovery time. Hope all goes well for you. Take care. Rhonda

Rhonda, I'm so sorry to hear this! You've had nothing but troubles with your band from the beginning, but at least now it's out of you and you can begin your recovery. I guess this just proves that the band is not right for everyone. I hope you get totally well soon and have no more problems as a result of this whole nightmare. Take care of yourself. Betty

Hi Rhonda, I'm so sorry to hear that the band had to go, but the important thing is that you get healed up and move on. Keep us posted on how you are doing and take care. Ramone
